Re: Browsing the Pavilion on an LCD monitor with 120 Hz is weird
Can't post links....PS3.
It's a Sony XBR4, but only a 32".
The 120 Hz feature makes the Planet Earth Blu-Ray seem as if I'm looking at flowers and trees through a window. It makes films appear to have more depth and immediacy, almost as if they were shot on video. It gives everything a different look, and the Pav definitely seems different on this monitor.
If you've never seen an LCD with 120 Hz turned on, you might not understand what I'm talking about. If you have, imagine browsing the Pav like that. Like I said, it's weird.

I've seen an LCD TV with 120 Hz, and it did make the image look amazing clear, but it was displaying the (awful) move Happy Feet. It made that move look like crap, being that it doubles the frames.Twothorp was in immense pain. The blisters did not care.

The settings were probably not right, then, because, yes, it DOES double the frames, but if you're outputting in 24p, it shouldn't make a difference. We have The Wild (and Happy Feet in the past) playing from Blu-Ray to a 120 Hz LCD, and it looks good. But watching a computer animated cartoon does not give you the full effect.
I either need to go back on my meds, or get out of the electronics department, because no human should need 4 televisions in a 15x30-ish room.

Actually, Mora, I've only been in electronics sales for less than a year.
It sucks, because I feel the need to try and keep up with all the latest technology (somewhat).
But with this LCD TV, it was priced at like $1299 brand new, closeout for $1169, dropped to $569 closeout, and it was going to zero (meaning, it would no longer have value) very soon, so I ended up getting it for $449 before my discount.

This just made it sound like you'd been doing it longer. It's such a sales pitch.Originally posted by Perversion View PostActually, Mora, I've only been in electronics sales for less than a year.

Hey, I don't DO sales pitches. I merely educate the consumers and allow them to choose the television that fits their needs. :3Originally posted by John Mora View PostThis just made it sound like you'd been doing it longer. It's such a sales pitch.
