(edit) Now that I read the article, this seems very very cool, and hopefully will help them get to the root of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

It also really makes you think about the distinction between life and robotics, or whether there really is one at all. And of course between actually thinking and simply following algorithms. Dennett's Thought Experiment, anyone?
