I wanna play a PS2 RPG in my collection.

Granted, I've got quite a few....but I've narrowed it down to the choices below:

-Restart FFXII on my PS3 (I have a PS2 save, but it's been so long, I'd rather start over).
-Dragon Quest XIII (still sealed)
-Star Ocean:Til the End of Time (still sealed, with cardboard slipcase...it's some double disc version or something)
-Odin Sphere
-Stella Deus
-Wild Arms 3
-The ****ty PS2 version of Grandia II (I used to own the DC version and quite enjoyed it, but rebought it on the PS2 before I heard the horror stories)
-I also have the first dot hack game, but I'm really not too interested in playing that anytime soon.


So, fellow Pavilionites, which RPG should I begin, play for about 5-6 hours, and then never play again?

Restart FFXII. It's the best game in the series.

Currently about to go to Giruvegan, but there's this problem of all the shiny new equipment/gambits/spells to buy and me with 27 gil to my name.

FFXII for sure.

Odin Sphere for maybe like, 20 minutes at a time.
Star Ocean was fun for a while, then I got really sick of it. So I'm not sure about that one.
Dragon Quest VIII was an ond-school blast. Only if you're into that sort of thing, though.

I think a sealed copy of Dragon Quest XIII could go for a lot of money, currently.

local K-mart has about 4 copies sealed for 20 dollars.

I loved Star Ocean: TtEoT (the first eight hours or so are a little sedate, you have to get through that before it gets really fun), I heard good things about Wild Arms 3 (never played it), you certainly can't go wrong with FF12, and I'd recommend ANYTHING in there over Odin Sphere, which I consider, by far, my worst video game purchase of the last three years.

Yeah, the port is a pixelated mess but the combat is still miles above the other games you listed, and if you only plan on playing a couple hours then what else in a game even matters?

I'd suggest Stella Deus could be skipped entirely if your time is limited. It was uniformly mediocre. I loved FF12, but Grandia II was breezy and fun, if you're not looking to get neck-deep into something.
