Wouldn't digital downloading make piracy... much, much easier though?
It's tied into your own personal account so even if you downloaded it onto another computer they couldn't play online at the same time you are. Also I heard that direct 2 drive games can only be installed 3 times or something like that and they constantly check your registry files every time you play the game.
EA is really pushing this stupid securom protection thing where you can only install the game like 5 times and you have to periodically "activate" the game online or else it won't play (meaning if you don't have the internet, you're screwed). It's ridiculous because securom was hacked almost immediately so the only people they're punishing are the guys who actually legitimately buy video games.
Even though I buy PC games I download a crack for all of them because I don't want to play with the CD (which shouldn't even be an option anymore, thank you stardock for realizing this) and I hate all the stupid protection which only annoys the honest guys. We need to boycott every stupid game with starforce or securom just to prove to publishers that it's absolutely worthless and only hurting their own fans.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."
