    GTA Chinatown Wars

    - Cell-shaded graphics/polygons - black borders
    - It’s a “real” GTA game - There’s sandbox gameplay, a totally open world, narrative
    - Going to be rated M
    - Camera angle is isometric (Phantom Hourglass?)
    - good touch-screen implementation - “tasteful” minigames, streamlining interface
    - UI based on a PDA - hub for email, contacts, map, music player, GPS, stat-tracking
    - finger-sized icons
    - missions designed for shorter periods of play, arcade quality
    - Control pad = aim, R button = auto target
    - subtle autosteer
    - if you fail a mission, you can jump back to the action sequence
    - Weapons include chain gun, flamethrower
    - good portion of Liberty City is modeled in the game (different routes than console games)
    - Load times aren’t an issue
    - lots of pedestrians, cars, etc on screen
    - Wanted system - objective is to disable police cars any way possible
    - Weather effects (real-time), 24-hour day/night cycle
    - A ton of radio stations - more instrumental than vocal
    - Wi-Fi and multiplayer support isn’t being discussed, but can upload stats to Rockstar Social Club website through Wi-Fi
    - Missions have been designed with shorter spurts of play, feel more arcadey
    - A lot of cars and pedestrians moving in the streets
    - Chinatown Wars revolves around a man named Huang Lee, member of Chinese Triads
    - Must deliver your father’s Yu Jian (he was just assassinated) to his Uncle Wu “Kenny” Lee
    - Yu Jian is a family heirloom/sword
    - Ambush occurs, Huang must locate the sword, avenge his father’s death
    - Hand-painted cut-scenes, there is limited animation in the cut-scenes

                        Re: GTA Chinatown Wars

90% of DS games look horrible in blown up, non moving screenshots.

But it's more about what's in the game than what's no the screen. Seems more worth playing than I expected.

I'm hoping those are magazine scans because they are grainy and ugly.

Sounds to me like Gauntlet with Cars. It sounds like they're approaching an all out combat oriented game which I can't say I'd enjoy on the DS. I actually like the narrative in GTA games.

It'll fit right in with every other game in the series then.
