There should be a channel dedicated to old cartoons.

A video dedicated to The "Golden Age of Nickelodeon". Some are hits, some are misses. But it's good enough for the nostalgia rush.

Specifically, I'd also like to see:

    Ducktales
    Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers
    Talespin
    Gargoyles
    Animaniacs
    Ka-Blaam!
    Hey Arnold!
    Ahhhh! Real Monsters
    Invader Zim
    Tiny Toon Adventures

    ......

I can't think of any more right now, but cartoons nowadays pretty much suck. I'm sure there would be a ton of licensing headaches, but c'mon. It's high time something like this happened, and you know the market is there.

    Boomerang. It's all coming back.

Jettix(jettex? jetix?) and toon disney will every so often play those shows. Others though like AHH real monsters are all clouded in licensing issues
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

The only cartoon I watched recently that I laughed at was Flapjack.

I think it's still floating around. Much like poop.

I just looked at the website and a lot of what they feature is indeed crap.

Even those example cartoons listed weren't very good. They're just not as terrible as what's coming out today.

I usually get my cartoon fix with some interesting, new, independent and classic cartoons on Channel Frederator.

Didn't Invader Zim get canceled because Jhonen Vasquez was ****** about not being allowed to show blood, so he would insert single frames of a blood-soaked Gir into every episode?

                Edit: Really? P.O-ed is censored?

                  Nostalgia goggles.

If Nintendo has taught me anything, it's that Nostalgia sells.

I've never seen any of the aforementioned cartoons.

                    : DanaCarvey/Grumpy Old Man

In my day, we didn't have any of these fancy newfangled cartoons. We had Clutch Cargo, who was sort of a cartoon, but sort of a real person. And New Zoo Revue, which was not a cartoon either. And The Smurfs, and Dungeons and Dragons. And Inspector Gadget. You young whippersnappers had it lucky, because after I was fed a steady diet of pretty bad cartoons, The Simpsons legitimized the format, and even Saturday morning cartoons/early afternoon cartoons were of decent quality. Another downside of Gen X. We were after all the old Hanna-Barbera stuff, but before Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, etc.

You kids can get nostalgic for 90s cartoons. I'll browse the internet for old He-Man episodes so I can cry in my lemonade at how bad cartoons really were in my day.

Psh, cartoons aren't any worse than the cartoons they were forcing us to eat when we were kids. I think you might be forgetting how much crap there was and how much nostalgia might be affecting things.

There have been a lot of great shows in recent years: Samurai Jack, Fosters, Camp Lazlo, Flapjack. Those are just the premier shows, I think, there are plenty of other shows that match at least Aah! Real Monsters or Chip n Dale and what not.

Samurai Jack and Courage were great. Chowder is neat, Johnny Test seems like a Dexter rip-off.

As a cartoonaholic the toons today are slowly reverting back to the creator-controlled-freedom of the Disney/MGM heydays. There was a period in the late 80s to early 90s that all cartoons were simply commercials for toys (Thundercats, Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc.). Now animators are getting bigger budgets and more freedom as seen in Samurai Jack, Avatar, Chowder, Flapjack, and Courage. The studios are still trying to market the heck out of them but there's definitely a lot more leniency in what is allowed and how much control the creator is allowed to exert.

Just look at Adventure Time on youtube to get an idea of what I mean. I believe Cartoon Network recently signed on Pendleton Ward to turn it into a series. Once again Nick is too slow.

Well, I think that Nickelodeon seems to have abandoned the cartoon market for the most part, and instead swapped it out by targeting the same tween audience the Disney channel has been targeting for many years now. At least we still have Cartoon Network, which pretty much rules at the moment.
