Basically it means everyone either shelters or flys away somewhere self. Aint no one gonna fly out any A1C so I'm going to be in my dorm all day long watching the **** out my window. Its expected to hit Friday morning according to what everyone here on base has been saying. I'm hoping the power and the water pressure do not go out. I really don't feel like ****ting out my window.
Luckily the dorm residents get issued MREs and water for the duration of the lockdown. No alcohol though, which is stupid. I'll guess I'll have to smoke outside on the stairwell, too.
Work is going nuts, going through all the procedures needed to take this into account. Then afterwards, we get to clean up the entire base. I'm going to need to secure my car as well, seeing as during the last typhoon, my friend's car got pushed across the lot into another.
And to top it off, I won a raffle I entered for a free ticket for 2 to the 61st Air Force ball here on Kadena. So I get to go Saturday all dressed up in my uniform with some hot local national wrapped around my arms, mingle with a bunch of big wigs who have been in service longer than I've been alive, and get to down all these fancy drinks.
I'm kind of on the fence as to if I would like it to get canceled or not. Oh well.

CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Sinlaku spawned Monday night east of the Philippines, rapidly strengthened into a Category 1-equivalent typhoon and is forecast to make a beeline toward Okinawa by Saturday. It also could hit Sasebo Naval Base, Japan, early next week.
