    New Game +

New Game + is a gamefile I made for new designers. It includes 2 years worth of efficient system files and all of the awesome unique features from Runewind Saga. With this system my second game is almost done and It's only been 3 months. All of the boring work is done, so new designers can go straight to making their maps and scripting there scenes.

Exactly 500,000 free memory, but there is way more then the presets gave you. Except they do give you more maps and dungeons to mess around with. I've included over 180 buildings and custom made visual effects.

Its in submissions now. I hope it qualifies as a full game lol. For the purpose it was intended for it IS a full game.

As a game there ARE stuff you can do. You can sail on the sea and fight pirate ships. You can kill the wandering merchant and explore the crevices of hell, you can fight 1 on 1 in the Arena, And you can boast your victories to all of the guards in your 22 room castle, and the 3 sample towns I have included.

For more information see the post accompanying the game file in submissions and later games. You can also post questions here and I will get to them.

    OH. MY. GOD.

That is amazing, and VERY nice of you to offer. This could potentially be the best thing to happen for RM2 in a long, long time.

    WOW.

I take it no one has ever thought of making their own presets before? I kinda always assumed someone would've done it by now.

Anyways I didn't include too many maps, because I strongly feel that maps and dungeons should almost never be cloned and that its an area the designer needs to focus on. Most of the stuff I have made contributes to memory and organizing the parts of the game that are invisible to the player.

But thank you. Hopefully this will inspire some people to mess around again, and help alleviate the time consuming borish parts of RPGM2 people tend to complain about.

Yeah, you would think, but oh well.

I think most people are too proud of their hard work, which is completely understandable. I know that you must be proud of yours, but that didn't stop you from being really nice and offering your work for others to use, which is rare and commendable.

And I agree about the maps. That's more like your artwork, rather than the mechanical part.

Read the submission post, it looks awesome, and I'll agree with Obi that it's easily one of the best things to happen to RM2 in years. You should be very proud to submit this! I hope it sees a lot of use.

I think that it certainly lends itself to being appreciated more that way, but...

Maybe I should've waited a bit. I mean I release this game with all these features then release the scripts and features on their own, what the heck was I thinking?

I can only hope it will fall to reason that those who want to design will get one and those who want to play will get the other. Having the editor didn't make anyone appreciate Fuma any less. Sure you've got most of the bonus features and such, but you won't really get to see the way they were used. The second file has some new features and effects too, like the tool using class.

Whatever comes from this, it is from Runewind and was the first of the games to use them. Using the features in a project and playing them in a game are two different things. I mean if you don't get to experience them in game play, its not much better then reading about them. I submitted the file to help new designers. Trust me when I say that its a lot more fun if you start with the game and let them hit you by surprise.

But most importantly, those who pick this up are going to design, and that would certainly make things more lively around here. Then when they finish they'll know how it feels and I'll say play mine, I'll play yours.

Well if it's any consolation, seeing this made me want to play your actual game a LOT. I think a lot of other people will think the same way. Just look at it as publicity for your game.
