    GAMESTOP/RESERVATION REWARDS SCAM

Don't know if this is the right forum to post this in however, I feel this is pretty important stuff:

    BEWARE!

I just recently reserved 2 copies of a video game due out in November from Gamestop online. Upon doing so, they offered a 10% coupon for my next online purchase.

This 10% coupon is resolved through a company called RESERVATION REWARDS and, upon completing your transaction with Gamestop, you receive your coupon from Reservation Rewards in your email.

First off, when you retrieve the coupon through your email, it has already expired and is no good.

Second, when you sign for the coupon, Gamestop GIVES RESERVATION REWARDS YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. Reservation Rewards signs you up for their program and begins charging your credit card $12.00 a month for their "membership".

If anyone has fallen for this, you CAN contact Reservation Rewards at their site or through the email that is sent to you from having signed up for the coupon.

CALL THEM AND DEMAND YOUR ACCOUNT TO BE CLOSED AND A FULL REFUND OF ANY CHARGES THAT HAVE BEEN APPLIED.

    EDIT:

If you ARE having trouble getting anything resolved through this company, there is a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT pending that you may get some help from:

Stuff like that always smells like a scam to me, but hey, no harm in warning others.

"Stuff like that always smells like a scam to me, but hey, no harm in warning others."

It appeared to be quite legitimate especially since such a large corporation as Gamestop was promoting it.

The coupon offer itself came from Gamestop but, during your attempt to retrieve the coupon and by clicking on the link given, you are re-directed to another form from Reservation Rewards.

You wouldn't think that the other big name corporations listed among their association (Broderbund, Dell, Delta, FTD, Yahoo, Staples, Time-Life, PETCO, KB Toys) would even be dealing with a company like this.

Thats what really surprised me about this scam.

At no time are you asked to even give your credit card information for the coupon retrieval. They take the information directly from Gamestop.

        Hence the class action lawsuit.

They're corporations, they're not your friends. They're to be treated with skepticism and distrust. There's your lesson.

There is no implication of anything more than a business transaction.

Treating all businesses with contempt and paranoia isn't a rational way of doing business.

The said "lesson" being "taught" here seems to be a petty ulterior one...

I'm the amazingbrain! Quite quite rather quite rather I'd rather quite my rather in rather rather.

I think the lesson here is to pay for your vidya games and most things with cash. This is half the reason I never pay with credit card.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

Its not really a scam, if you bother to read the print then it clearly says it will sign you up for charges
