    Runewind Saga 2 is coming!

    The second and concluding part of the main story (which features chapters 4-6) is coming along nicely, and I will be updating my progress here.     Insights:

    Since characters begin with their advanced class (and those who didn't have one now have some new ones) added a new tool using class called the mechanic. Almost anyone can take this class and certain tools will require ranks of it to use. (see tool list below and forbidden enemy moves)

    Optional Arena Bosses unveiled!

    Nemorae: Mainly attacks, sometimes uses X-slash (halves whole party hp) his attack has 9-12 battle turns, 3 if you fight him alone. After the first 2 rounds of attacking, he gives a speech and "gets serious." Now all of his attacks will inflict random status abnormalities. Begins with Extra dodge, so you miss most of the time unless you use the recombobulator tool to turn it off.

    Hypospray 4 Cure abnormal status, unlimited use
    Ambush amplifier 5 Raises encounter rate
    Repulser Ray 7 Lowers encounter rate
    Forcefield 6 next enemy magic attack will fail.
    Death Ray 6 insta death, no boss
    Jumper Cables 3 instantly revive when killed. consumable
    Recombobulator 7 Extra dodge off
    Reflex Modulator 8 Revenge / counter off
    Doomsday Device 8 Lose turn count off
    Cour Capacitor (courage) 7 Calls back Feared allies
    Shyft Suppressor 8 Turns off shyft enemy level
    Mimic Masher - targets and removes those annoying monster chests
    Emotion Engine - Shifts everyones mood to something favorable
    Pollution Pole - Smoke bomb that never gets used up. for escaping.



    Many of these tools are required to deal with certain bosses:

    Courage Capacitor: the only thing that cures fear status
    Shyft Supressor: shyft enemy level increases the enemy stats every round.
    Recombobulator: extra dodge flag makes the enemy dodge 2/3 of all attacks, abilities, and spells.
    Reflex Modulator: revenge counters the attacker with same damage done to them.
    Doomsday Device: doomsday spell sets the lose turn count to 4. After 4 rounds the party dies.
    Forcefield: the forcefield causes one magical spell to end. If the attack hits the entire party, only one member is saved. In a solo fight vs a boss with insane magic power you keep using this item every round until he spends a round doing something other then trying to cast magic. On those rounds you attack or heal. Thus this tool can completely lock an enemy out of his magic.

    The hardest boss in my game is an optional fight where you need 6 or 7 of these to counter all this stuff. On top of all that, you need to kill this boss before it casts Arise or else it will keep calling itself when it dies.

    Hey, great job, it sounds like you've got a lot done already, and that you've put some thought into the tools and statuses (be careful to make sure the player can't beat every enemy using the same tool), and by the way the map names are very nice (Lunaries, Pools of Darkness) and the boss battles sound interesting.

    One problem though, I really have no idea what this is about! I've never heard of this project before, and most of what you have is a status report... which means I'm confused about everything from "what is the Fear status" to "what is the plot of the game."

      Ah yes the pools of darkness, one of my favorite maps.

      I made the water black, and maxed out speed and whitewater. So its a trippy flash effect and when you make a lot of them with different heights the white flash comes at different times. If you make the land just low enough so you can walk and still see the textures the ground flashes white.

      The map is so ridiculously hypnotic I should attach a warning label to it.
