EverQuest II Start-Up Error

My friend bought a new video card to run EQII. Now, everything matches up to the recommended specs. Howeverm everytime we try to load, we get to the EQII menu, just before the "Create a character" option. It pans up to the castle, then the screen goes black and the computer locks up. No matter what we do, it won't work.

We're on Windows XP, and can't find any troubleshooting stuff. Anyone here know how to help?

Is your videocard overheating? If it overheats, you can have some problems with games locking up. Make sure the fan on it is running. And check the temperature on it, somehow. That's all I really know.

Well, it always locks up at the exact same stop.

Yeah, I would suggest getting the newest drivers for your video card.

Clean it up, probably overheating.
