In order to make sure that the RPG Maker games made by our community are future-proof, the RPG Maker Magazine will be teaming up with us to get the entire RPG Maker 1, 2, and 3 libraries converted to the PS3 format.
This will not be a quick task. We will be releasing converted games whenever we have time to do it. but we ARE going to get them all done.
This does not mean our site's collections will be merged. if the pavilion and mag both have a certain game submitted to both their sites, but only one of the sites has the converted file, we will share it. if the mag has a game that the pav does not, the pav will not recieve the converted file for it unless the creator decides to submit it here as well.
Yes, this will make the sites even more similar. I have to admit that the PS3 files being exclusive to the pav were a damn good draw for traffic. But converting these things takes a long time. eventually, the mag was going to convert their games anyways. and it seemed like it would be a massive waste of effort for them to have to go and convert games we have already done. working together, we'll get it done faster, and make sure everyone can play the games the console RPG Maker community has made for years to come without having to track down elusive and terrible hardware like the dex drive.
If you have a PS2, a PS3, a dex drive or a max drive and would like to help with this, please reply to this topic or the topic over at the mag. we're going to be focusing on games both sites have at first, and worry about exclusives later.
