I saw this film today; while I liked the film, it was still disappointing. The original Deathrace 2000 had a scene of a guy getting peeled out on, while this one did not.
The science fiction elements were quite limited in this film.
But, the gore was plentiful which redeemed it partially, imo.
Its story was nothing similar to the original Deathrace 2000, but I shall say no more on that issue.
Sadly, it did not have a Sterling kit car on a VW chassis with a huge engine, green paint, and alligator teeth in the front.
Lots and lots of blood though. Lots.
The cars were like something you would see out of a modern remake of "The Roadwarrior", but without any kickass decals(such as skulls or demons).
But at $4, I don't think I went wrong with this choice. I rarely ever go to theatres.
