Any one else here familiar with Washington Irving's original tale?


I've been interested in the story for a while now, but only now did I actually read it. It's very, very good; I really enjoyed it.

Any one else a fan?

And have any comments on the nature of the story? Such as, social or political commentaries Irving may have been making with the story?

Seems like there are some rationality and anti-pioneering sentiments laced throughout.
