Xbox 360 demand exceeds supply IN JAPAN!?!

    To all customers

We truly thank you for all your patronage in the past.

Currently, the Xbox 360 is sold out, and retailers are unable to restock their supply. This is a result of our own sales targets being exceeded by the actual customer sales. We deeply apologize for this inconvenience to our customers, retailers and business partners.

Here at Microsoft, we are moving forward quickly with console production, and plan to ship the standard Xbox 360 model out this September. Furthermore, we will sequentially be shipping out the Elite and the Arcade models. We ask that you please patiently wait until the console is shipped.

We truly thank you for your patronage hereafter.

Granted, it's because the supply was so low because they never expected there to be a real demand. But sweet merciful Zeus, they're actually buying the thing now! Too little, too late? Maybe, but MS JP has got to be glad it's not a total wash-out this time around.

Japan hates disgusting round eye gaijin games. Its true! If they cant grind 100 levels in turn based combat, they go crazy!

We've had the East/West game design differences argument before. Basically the Japanese aren't used to/don't like first person shooters and lots of gameplay freedom. They appreciate art design and a structured gameplay experience.

                nope.

every once in a while a big exclusive hits the system in japan and this happens. a month later, they're back to a few thousand sold in a month.

Well, I guess this just shows that the Wii is the better system. If it is not the better system, why is everyone buying it?

                      there is no "better system".

                      all three are great.

the wii keeps selling out because of two things. they're selling to a brand new demographic that has never been targeted before, and secondly, scalpers.

                      also, 360 topic.

Saying there is no better systen is like saying all MP3 players are created equal.

'cause they pretty much are unless you start adding stuff that doesn't relate to music at all.

                              You're a racist

And not trying to divert this topic further, but doesn't the Wii's cost factor in in any way? It is cheaper. Not that it makes it better, just more appealing to thrifty gamers.
