    Yahoo's Top 25 Sci-Fi Movies

    http://movies.yahoo.com/photos/colle...i-films#photo0

What joke. V for Vendetta is not even a sci-fi movie, neither is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Mora, Magus... be prepared to be totally ******.

There are like, seven people I would trust to come up with a decent list, and two of them are myself and my sister. Four of the others are on this site, and the seventh is a buddy from my Java Programming class from back in my community college days.

But who cares what other people think about movies? What one person think is the greatest movie ever made someone else might totally hate...so the idea of coming up with a "top 25" is nothing more then an opinion, even if it has specific criteria each has to meet.

I dont watch movies, perhaps thats why I think this way.

No, your pretty much right. I think that 2001: A Space Odyssey is a terrible movie, and Mora has probably been plotting my demise ever since I told him as much.

However, I believe that there are certain movies that have an appeal that spans the overwhelming majority of those who watch them. These movies deserve to be recognized. Top ## Lists are the interwebs way of doing that

              30. Serenity 30?!? Screw that, #1 with a bullet baby, yeah! Well, not #1 but definitely not dead last
              29. X-Men: The Last Stand Boo-urns!
              28. I Am Legend First 2/3 of it was decent but it doesn't belong on any top lists.
              27. Donnie Darko Should be higher.
              26. X2: X-Men United I liked the first one better.
              25. Deja Vu The two days apart car chase was the most interesting part.
              24. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Haven't seen it.
              23. Ghostbusters 23? Come on now.
              22. V for Vendetta Haven't seen.
              21. The Terminator 3 sucked. SCC is better than I expected.
              20. X-Men You know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by lightning?
              19. Predator 2 was better cuz black people be fightin' aliens like this...
              18. Superman Better than Returns that's for sure.
              17. SW Ep 3: Revenge of the Sith You're breaking my heart!
              16. Alien Should be higher
              15. Spider-Man Aside from certain parts of 3 I love the Spider-Man movies.
              14. Jurassic Park Spectacular looking dinosaurs and some people to run from them. I think there was some plot and "character development" in there somewhere too.
              13. T2: Judgement Day Hasta la vista, baby.
              12. The Incredibles Since when did superhero = Sci-Fi? At least the rest have sci-fi based powers. Where did the Incredibles powers come from anyway? Regardless, Pixar makes good movies.
              11. Close Encounters of the Third Kind A classic. I can only remember the end though. And the mashed pataters.
              10. The Day the Earth Stood Still Keanu Reeves remake? If he's the robot it's the most brilliant casting in years. Otherwise, ick.
              9. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Let's just forget the 20th Anniversary Edition ever happened.
              8. The Matrix Why did the other two suck so hard?
              7. Back to the Future
              6. Aliens Peak of the series. Then it went downhill FAST.
              5. Return of the Jedi I loved the Ewoks!
              4. The Empire Strikes Back Original trilogy all in top 5. Prequel tril, only one made the list. And the new Indiana Jones... Yeah maybe you should stop making movies, Mr. Lucas.
              3. Transformers I liked it but it doesn't belong this high on the list.
              2. Star Wars The first. The best.
              1. Iron Man I need to see this. Will probably wait for the DVD.

How is V a sci-fi movie? It taking place in an alt universe does not qualify it as sci-fi. Its just Fiction.

Eternal Sunshine's only "sci-fi' element is the memory erasing machine, which is merely a plot device. It doesn't really deserve to be on this list. (not because it isn't good, but because it isn't sci-fi enough.)

Hate to tell you, but science fiction is a genre where people take a (usually) fictitious technology and study the ramifications it would have.

If it makes it any better, every TF fan, even if they loved the movie, is outraged that the movie even placed on this list.

Dumb list. People have bad opinions.

Also, Eternal Sunshine was definite Sci-Fi but I don't know what about V for Vendetta really was.
