    Son of a

More tinten vidya game story topics.

In this one we tell each other about times we made large mistakes not through whoopsies or hitting the incorrect button sequence. But for not being knowledgeable in the game of what's to happen. This mostly applies to games that we've yet to play, let me give a few examples.

In parasite eve I had this super mega shotgun weapon that I spent the whole game up grading. Then I applied the mod to it that lets me shoot fire grenades.
This doesn't sound too bad, but I did this just before I was going to the museum level. You know, the one with the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs that recover from fire. So I went through the whole thing with the nightstick :<

Another would be resident evil zero. I gave Billy all my awesome weapons because he was a tank that headbutts bulls made of rattle snakes into pieces. Of course after I give him my shotgun rocket launcher and tons of ammo. He gets attacked by a monkey, him and rebecca get seperated and I'm unable to play as him. And I hadn't saved for a loooooooooong time.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

I should have known the Jumper game's ending was going to be the worst ending in history.

I played through the first few battles of FFT without knowing that you could use anyone besides Ramza.

I think a lot of people had to start over in FFT because of the solo battle with Wiegraf.

I did that when I first rented the game when it came out. Thought it was way too difficult and didn't play much of it again, and returned it.

Years later I found out how foolishly foolish I had been.

That too. Once I got the hang of demon fusing things got better, but damn. I've never seen so many game over screens in a single game--let alone an RPG. Having the game end when the main character kicks the bucket is really cheap, too.

Dragon Quest VIII, I spent my skill points on the wrong stuff. Had to reset.

                  I did this twice.

Ocarina of Time, Test of Gereudo. I used the keys in the wrong doors and couldn't get the Ice Arrows.

Morrowind, I spent tens of thousands of gold pieces on Indoril Armor right before going on a mission where I found a dead Ordinator with a full set.

I was temped to do that, I went with Swords with the Hero and Angelo, Scythes for Yangus and the Staff for Jessica (with the secondary skills, too). Might not have been the best of choices but I decided at that point I was already pretty far in and there was no way I was gonna start again from square one.

                        Re: Son of a

Skills hardly mean anything early game and you get plenty midway through that it's not a big deal. I gave Yangus some 20 skill points in axes which I dropped in favor of Scythes and still maxed out his Humanity at like level 30. I should have given the Hero more skill in Spear but ended up maxing his Sword and Courage by level 40 and had enough skill points in Spear to get lightning strike or whatever it was called.

Jessica got a huge pot of skill points and I pretty much kept her staff, whip, and sex appeal/whatever near max throughout the entire game. Angelo had some of the crappiest skills except for his bow and a few staff skills.

I've never beat Diablo 2. The closest I've ever gotten was up to Diablo himself, I was using a fire bow amazon.

In retrospect I should've figured all the bad guys in act 4, taking place in hell, WOULD absorb fire
