PS3 owners...how does this idea sound? (Game sharing)

Okay, I've read of this being done before, and I wanna see if anyone's interested.

I'm guessing we'd need 5 people willing to do this. What we do is, someone makes a PSN account, and then makes a PayPal account (I'm not sure exactly how that works, so someone else more knowledgeable would have to take care of that aspect). Then, each of the five people add $10 to the account, and ties that PayPal account with $50 in it to the PSN account. Then each person gets to pick one full-priced ($10) downloadable game that is forthcoming to download with the account, and the other 4 people also will get to download it. That way, you're getting 5 games for the price of 1, with at least 1 being something you want. Even if you do not WANT the other 4, hey, they're free games, and it might expose you to games you ordinarily would not download yourself.

If this gets going, I was thinking we could make a social group to discuss details.

    So, what do you think?

EDIT: I read something about this being done using PayPal, but now that I think about it, I'm not sure if you can use PayPal for PSN. Dunno. In any case, it's something that's possible in any case. All each person would have to do is add $10 to the wallet, and delete the CC info before giving everyone else the password.

I'm interested. I'd be willing to use my credit card if no one else was.

Although I have no idea how the sharing works. Do the PS1 games on there work with this too?

You poor, sad, uninformed young man.

Yeah, what Mora said. Pain is okay, too, if you want a laugh. Once you pass the "this is pretty damn funny" stage, there actually IS some play value by setting goals for yourself and trying to fulfill them (launching yourself into a smokestack, getting yourself AND the old lady with the walker to go flying out of that vent at the back of the subway, etc). flOw is fun for a chillout, right-before-bed type game that you do not have to really get all into or worked up to play.

And PixelJunk Eden is my new favorite PSN game. Simple, intuitive controls, some challenge, and a good-looking, good-sounding game to boot.

I know a bit about PayPal but I have no PS3 and unfortunately have no plans of buying one in the near future.

Okay. So far, the comments (besides Chrono) have amounted to "I don't have a PS3," "PSN games suck," or "No, PSN games are good."

So, is anyone interested in doing this or are we just gonna discuss the relative merits of PSN games and/or owning or not owning a PS3?

I mean, yeah. I just made the thread last night, and I know it'll take a bit of time, but is anyone even interested in doing this?

What I meant about what I said earlier is I'll only be able to play PSN PSP games since not owning a PS3 or having a Paypal Account

I also looked on Google about using Paypal on a PS3 and found out you can't do that on the PSN although I found out Paypal has a debit card and you can use that on PSN

Well, if you have no way of contributing money to this, there's no reason for you to reply.

same for the people posting they don't have PS3s or any interest in PSN games.

                          lets keep this on-track.

I'm not gonna take part, as I do not like any games on the PSN that I don't already own.

The point of my post wasn't so much to say that wasn't interested, but rather that I could answer questions about paypal if you had any. But seeing as paypal can't relaly be used I guess I can't really help, sorry =(
