    The Princess and the Frog

Oh, god, Disney. First you try to make the first black Disney protagonist a servant girl in the Deep South, then you put in this ****ing firefly.

The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

If that thing's a main character, no way I'm seeing this movie.

*can't find a picture of Moses from The Hudsucker Proxy *

I really don't see anything wrong with this, in fact I think it's fitting for the (chocolate) New Orleans setting and kinda cute.

                      Whats wrong with the firefly?

Some people just like to stir up drama where there should be none...really, could you see a regular white person voicing that firefly and having it fit in?

                      I didn't think so.

The firefly isnt suppose to be portraying anything racist, it's a cajun firefly, and if you bother to read up on cajun culture, you'd understand why he speaks that way(Of course, the actual artistic portrayal is a bit stereotypical, but meh, theres nothing wrong with that, everyone uses stereotypes to make things funnier).

It's better than Disney trying to make everything disgustingly squeaky-clean.

                            So whatever.

                              Fun Facts!

The Heroine of the movie, who is the first Black American Disney Princess, caused some controversy when she was given what some people perceived as a stereotypically lower-class "black name" "Maddy" and was made a chambermaid, an occupation some felt not in keeping with the image of a Disney Princess.

On April 20, 2007, E! reported that the title of the film could possibly be changed from The Frog Princess to The Princess and the Frog, and that the lead character Maddy may be getting a name change as well. [15]

On May 4, 2007, USA Today published an article regarding the film in which they referred to it under the aforementioned title, The Princess and the Frog, and referred to the lead character as "Tiana" rather than Maddy, supporting the earlier reported name change possibilities.[16]

On May 8, 2007, BET and other online sites reported that Disney spokeswoman Heidi Trotta stated that some of the original release information was incorrect, and confirmed the USA Today names "Princess Tiana" and The Princess and the Frog to be correct. Tiana will no longer be a "chamber maid." Trotta stated "Princess Tiana will be a heroine in the great tradition of Disney’s rich animated fairy tale legacy, and all other characters and aspects of the story will be treated with the greatest respect and sensitivity."
OH NOEZ! SHE CANT BE A LOWER CLASS CHAIMBER MAID! THATD BE RASCIST! Cause you know, theres never been any other princess that had it rough, and were basically slaves all their lives, like Snow White or Cinderella, that went from rags to riches, or anything like that. Or hell even the other TONS of fairy tales of really poor starving peasant people, becoming princesses and princes.

She was also originally going to have a flapper girl look to fit in with the time period, since that style was all the rage back then. But then they somehow figured, generic girl with generic white poofy princess dress worked better. Whatever.
