Bush Administration Trying To Change Abortion Laws To Include Contraceptives

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2...5421109&page=1

    http://www.progressivepuppy.com/the_...dministra.html

    To Summarize:

A draft regulation circulating at the Department of Health and Human Services has come to light and it defines abortion to include a number of commonly used birth control methods, including pills, IUDs and emergency contraceptives. The regulation says abortion is “any of various procedures – including the prescription, dispensing and administration of any drug or the performance of any procedure or any other action – that results in the termination of the life of a human being in utero between conception and natural birth, whether before or after implantation.” Several common birth control methods, including pills, can interfere with implantation in addition to ovulation.
In response to the actions a bunch of congressman wrote a letter asking the administration to cut the crap:

"The regulation's definitions are so broad as to go far beyond abortion politics and threaten virtually any law or policy designed to protect women's access to safe and effective birth control. The department does this primarily by defining 'abortion' in a way that could sweep in many common forms of birth control," the lawmakers write in the letter.

"It would allow any provider, who wants to deny a woman emergency contraception or even birth control pills, to claim protection based on a personal belief that such pills fit the regulatory definition."

Aside from this being completley and utterly retarded, I don't think most doctors would deny birth control pills to people unless they wanted patients to be like "hey I'm gonna get a new doctor because you're a giant moron."

But I mean, this would be one of the most monumentally stupid regulations...ever.

They may as well say "women who have periods are aborting a child" and ban wacking off and sex without the purpose other than conception and all of that jazz.

Come on, just a few more months.

I once had this comic book with the X-men telling a kid to not smoke even though they should have been kicking Magneto's ass.

That has nothing to do with abortion buuut....

Bush Administration is a funny word

Yep, then condoms would become part of the black market.

People will be peddlin' condoms...and going to jail for years for intent to distribute contraceptives.

                      Why this doesn't make sense.

Abortion is the termination of an already fertilized egg.

Contraceptives prevent such fertilization from happening.

Hence, no "human life" is there to begin with.

Not like it needs to be said but: it won't happen.

I know why Bush is trying to do this...

Hes trying to bring the economy back up by making another baby boom happen!

Just think of all the money that would be going into various things that people would need for babies...clothes, diapers, food, all that stuff.

CAN'T YOU PEOPLE SEE HE'S TRYING TO SAVE US FROM RECESSION?!?!?!

                            NO MORE CONDOMS!

Someone has to mail his daughters coat hangers with a copy of the law taped to them.
