Since my RPGM3 demo is uploaded, I'm now trying focusing on my RPGM2 project. I'm having some writing difficulty, though. I can't seem to write, for lack of better words, the way some black people talk. To give an example, I'm try to write the way Barret was written in FF VII, but with a Mr. T twist. Any advice any of you can give me would greatly help.

See the parts with Sean.
Probably seems weird to post a link to a Survivor fanfic of all things, but the author specifically mentioned that he always avoided writing Sean until he was "forced" to, because the way Sean talked always seemed to acutely aware of the fact that he was from Harlem, and was so often racially motivated (sometimes jokingly, sometimes not so). I definitely see some parallels with the block you're facing right now. And I think the author did a great job writing Sean here, so maybe you can take some inspiration from it.
What I took from it for a character like this, I guess, would be to define the character's core beliefs and values, and in every situation that doesn't involve those core beliefs, have the guy puff himself up enormously and try to elicit some laughter with his hyperbole.

There's no reason to create a "hey everybody I'm black" black guy. They're never good characters.Ryner's Games
