Another question about slavery in the educational institutions.

Ok, so I plan to go to CAH-LEEJ in the fall. I don't wanna spend 5+ years educating myself, and then find out it was all for naught when the world ends. So, I wanna CRAM. Like a certain type of guy in a certain type of way. No, moreso.

Computer Information Systems, Business and Medical Assisting(possibly something less deadly). Those are my main target courses. I wanna tackle them ALL in 2 years, tops. Can I do it? I think so.

So, uh... anyone know about cramming courses in college? Like can it be done(putting 3 courses worth of classes into 2 years or less), how many hours should I put into one day, etc.?

Don't worry, I set aside two years of celibacy for it.

Depending on the college you'll be resisted by many of the people that schedule your courses.

However with 3 majors I don't think that's humanly possible time-wise, unless you find a college that somhow has all three in a degree.

Cramming is fine and all. But the Best thing you can get out of college it Networking with people and interning. do that and you can definitely get something.

Yeah, that "best years" line of thinking sucks.

            College sucks too.

They have three career paths open:

                    1) College Professor

                    2) Elementary School Teacher

                    3) Sales Clerk.

I ranked them in order of prestige, the pay is roughly the same.

You won't retain the information as well if you cram.

Well, the best years in my life are over(elementary school lolz).

I'm not going for a masters or anything, it's purely about the education. Those 3 majors have everything I need to go through certain ventures I plan on embarking in the future, and it definitely wouldn't hurt too have certificates to show potential suitors.

If you took summer courses, didn't join any clubs, and didn't work then yeah it'd be possible.

Would I recommend it? Hell no.

If you're going away to college and your parents/the bank is footing the bill, enjoy it. It's a unique time in your life. You'll have full freedom but little financial responsibility. Have you ever had a job before? Why would you want to rush into a forty hour work week?

Not only that, but in terms of entering the work force, finding good internships and making good contacts is much more valuable than anything you'd learn in college.

Unless you're going to a technical school, college doesn't teach you what you need for your job. It just says that you have the skills to learn the job once you get there.

Re: Another question about slavery in the educational institutions.

Yeah, I'd say that load is excessive. My friend is only doing a double major--biology and classics--and it's a full-time job for her, it requires a lot of class time, lab time, study time, recitation, reading, researching, and writing. I don't feel like my course of study is as time intensive, even though it's also a double, because I have less of a lab requirement and more practical experience, which often doesn't feel like school. So the individual difficulties and required time commitments of your selected programs may influence the viability of your plan.

Also, it depends on your college's academic policy. At ConU, I can't take more than 15 credit hours per semester, at FSU I can take up to 18, but they're allowing me to do an overload of 20.

Are each of these two-year or four-year programs? Is there a liberal arts requirement? Will course sequencing force you to spread out your courses over a set amount of semesters? Do you have to get prereqs out of the way? Does your college even award a triple-major degree or will you have to apply for multiple degrees? It's highly conditional.

Seems very ambitious, but best of luck to you.

One thing to add: you might also want to consider the fact that associates and bachelor degrees and certificates can only get you so far in the professional world, no matter how padded they are.
