This is one of two scenerios

    1) Since we can't think of ideas. Lets have our fans throw some out there and we'll use whatever want and blame them if it fails.

    2) we won't even ask them and if it goes wrong we can blame the fans.

I dun like it. Makes it seem like they've no idea how to handle it and are probably running around the office screaming.
Find a dog, honk it's nose. If you are bothered by this sentence. I guess you're just not cool enough for the noses.

I think this particular situation is awesome. djpretzel and crew are awesome arrangers. I WISH something like this would happen to me.

As long as developers remain discerning, this could be a great trend.

yea, cause clearly capcom doesnt know what its doing and definately doesnt know where ito begin with the music aspect of the game. it isnt like they origonally made the game or anything.

maybe read the article, could help a little.

For something as small as music I don't mind at all since it has nothing to do with the actual design of the game.

Now asking fans to design aspects of the actual gameplay is both the greatest thing for the game and the absolute worst. You'll end up with a product that's PERFECT for said fans but at the same time you'll be alienating everyone else who isn't a fan which can really hurt a company with games being so expensive to produce these days. I'll point to Metal Gear Solid 4 as a good example because if you didn't play the first three games you'd be completely lost from the very beginning. Compare that to Resident Evil 4 which requires almost no knowledge whatsoever of the previous RE games even though it takes place in the same continuity.

This. Fans have so many ideas that when a company goes to them for advice, they try to please all of them and end up pleasing none of them. So I think it's a bad idea.

And not just in video games. I present Exhibit B: Snakes on a Plane.

Didn't this happen with the Armored Core Portable? People complained about not having control so they changed it all around so that they could n' stuff?
