Seriously guys, I've haven't played a game this much since Pokémon. I loved Dragon Warrior Monster for the Game Boy Color. When I was a little kid, I used to play that game for hours on end. All of my monsters were level 99. Sadly though, I turned it on the other day and found all my data ereased. All well. Anyway, do any of you guys own Dragon Quest Monster: Joker?

I was thinking about it. I loved Dragon Quest Monsters 1 & 2. Caravan Heart sucked, unfortunately, but Joker was supposed to be good.

I have to get Joker eventually since I'm a collector, however I've been putting it off because I've heard that the breeding system sucks and there aren't as many monsters in it. I never played it so that may be false.

Please tell me what you think of it when compared to Dragon Quest Monsters 1 or 2. I loved DQM2.

And just in case no one at the Pavilion informed you, I'm probably the biggest DQ fan here, or at least one of them. I even have the DQV and DQVI imports on my shelf.

I read in that topic it lacks random battles, that worries me, how are you supposed to build up your monsters levels?

DQM:J is good, but not quite as good as DWM. As for your second question, the way it works is you encounter a monster and after you beat it/them, another monster appears in the area to take its place. After about 3/4 way through the game, you can battle in a metel slime garden, thus ganining crazy amounts of experience points. Anyway, you should definitly pick it up.

Yeah, I definitely want to get it, but I'd have to trade in some games in order to do so and I don't think I have any games I want to part with. I don't have any extra money right now, and somehow I have to come up with a way of seeing X-Files this weekend...

No, they come out on weekends. Maybe people that work weekends get it off, I don't know. What I do know is that the release of a Dragon Quest game in Japan has been known to start small riots...
