The Economics of Being Environmentally Friendly

I don't have any channels on my television so I sadly didn't catch this when it was airing, but now I'm getting to watch it online in increments. I'm talking about the show Design e2.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_e2

It's a PBS show that's all about the (as the title says) economics of being environmentally friendly. It's very educational and narrated by Brad Pitt(Season 1) and Morgan Freeman(Season 2). I'm only halfway through season 1 right now. If you enjoy economics, environmental issues, Architecture, general Business strategies, or just want to further your knowledge about how the world around you works I suggest you check it out.

Not watching the show, from what I understand, the basics behind it is that being environmentally friendly has a steep initial installation cost, but pays off in the long run, not just in the small, "Oh I want to install solar panels on my roof" sense, but in the larger, "We need to switch to Public Nationwide transportation, slash our dependence on fossil fuels and carbon emissions, and completely change our way of life" sense.

Would I be safe in that assumption?
        ...and that's why.

I haven't watched it, but probably.

            I want to watch it.

I'm not sure how, though (other than television). The answer may be on the linked site, but I'm afraid to click anything for fear it'll charge me.

No actually, nothing like that besides the dependence on fossil fuels and carbon emissions thing. Those are the things that the press are running with, but not the only battlefront. It's cheaper to build large buildings "green" now. They also cover how they're handling construction on a small scale and in rural areas.

                  How?

If you mean the linked video, it was just a minute long intro explaining the show. That was it.

EDIT: Ah, the webcasts... if only I could increase the size....
