    New and Improved, Puzzle Buster 2 is on the way!

    I've been laying low for basically the past year, but some of you may recognize me from here and/or GameFAQs. Anyway, this is my first creation using RPG Maker 2, frankly because I haven't had a whole lot of time to use this software until just recently. Some of you may be familiar with Puzzle Buster for RPG Maker 1 (and some may even remember the insane difficulty of "Level 3" in that game...for all of you puzzle buffs, give it a try. It *is* possible. :P ). Puzzle Buster is a game I made last year that was strictly a puzzle game with no story. In spite of that fact, I received positive feedback from those who played it. So, I decided to give it an overhaul in many important areas on the much more powerful RPG Maker 2.

    Some of the new features included in Puzzle Buster 2 are:

    *More Enemies

    *Enhanced Graphical Representations: Events such as enemy deaths now have their own animations depending on the type of enemy and weapon used. There are also animations created for player deaths from each type of enemy.

    *More Barricades

    *New Weapons and Items

    *Implementation of Various Traps: Each trap will need to be deactivated a certain way before allowing the player to pass safely.

    *Implementation of a Storyline: The storyline in Puzzle Buster 2 will play a much larger role than the non-existent storyline of Puzzle Buster for RPG Maker 1.

    *Much More Innovative and Stylish Level Design

    In addition, through the use of variables, there will be the ability to view statistics on each level, such as the number of times defeated by different types of enemies, and the amount of times attempting each level. These may even play a role in which later levels may be accessed, and when. I'll be releasing a demo of the game that talks more about these features, and more importantly, shows them in action. I'll also implement into that demo how the storyline will play a larger role in the gameplay of Puzzle Buster 2. Whether the demo will be playable or not depends on how far along I am and how good the demo is able to look without actually playing too much of the game.

    So, for those of you who have played Puzzle Buster for RPG Maker 1, this game will be similar in the puzzle aspect. But, it will be greatly improved upon in that area, as well as many other areas that didn't even exist in the first Puzzle Buster. I hope to finish Puzzle Buster 2 within the next month or two, so hopefully there will be a good base of players that may want to check out the demo in the next couple of weeks. I'll keep you updated.

    I remember playing the original, but not finishing it. I did beat L3, though.
