My Anaylsis On Fantasy (Just For The Hell of It)

(I'm kinda writing this because I have no where else to say this).

Is it me or are vampires dominating the fantasy genre (especially in literature)? At first I was all "cool, some vampires", but now they're everywhere. Even my friend is really into vampires (although she wrote an interesting vampire story). Personally, I think they're a bit overrated.

Looking back, it was like that with mystics a couple years ago, if you think about it. Perhaps vampires are just a fad.

    What's your opinions?

Where exactly are you seeing a lot of them? And would this be more about horror?

Bah, maybe it's just me. I got this book catlog in the mail and it was just one vampire book after another. I'm pretty sure it was in the fantasy genre (or at least fantasy/horror).

Like I said, maybe I'm just insane.

No really, I think she's right. Vampires are popular right now in Fantasy/Romance. It's just their turn in the popularity cycle. It seems each generation has one solid group that likes things particularly gothic and or macabre. Vampires do seem to be a rather big trend right now what with Stephanie Meyer and all. I've heard her books have picked up quite the cult following to the point they're making a movie from one of her books(Twilight I'm pretty sure). Plus it's not like this movement didn't have momentum. Plenty of good vampire things in the past 20 years or so to brew this up. Anne Rice, Vampire Hunter D, Blood: The Last Vampire, Blood +, Buffy, Bram Stroker's(The movie adaptation), Blade, Underworld, and Hellsing I can think up off the top of my head. Oh yeah, then there's the vampirism in Wuthering Heights that damn near every highschooler has to read. But uh yeah, I think since Twilight found such a recent cult following the Culture Industry is just trying to make a quick buck on the fad so it's pumping out a lot of similar stuff.

That's it, I'm looking those books up. Too many people I know have mentioned them, and I'm going to find out what the fuss is.

As for the topic, I... go through little fixations that last a month or less... vampires were last month. This month it's dragons.

Vampires are popular because it's romantic to have HOLES IN YOUR NECK.

Why do vampires have to be so drab, macabre, and depressing? If I was a vampire, I'd wear bright colors, go to comedy clubs and take solace in having my soul eternally damned. If means I can go do what I want, since being nice would save me.

Goblins can be romantic too. In some cases.

TBS is coming shortly... I finally got off my lazy self and contacted Datel, so new Max Drive software is coming thus allowing me to release my TBS.

A lot of people like to have their neck biten/sucked on during sex. It turns people on.
