Sadly or maybe thankfully there are no character voices in the video. I'm anxious to hear them. I hope they're not as bad as the ones in the One Piece dub which makes me want to kill someone every time I hear it. I heard that Spike's voice actor is doing Kakashi.

one piece - done by 4kids, same company that did yu-gi-oh and pokemon

naruto - done by shopro, same company that did Inuyasha and treated it with an obscene amount of respect. it too started on toonami, so the broadcast standards of the time slot has nothing to do with it.

honestly, this whole ordeal is stupid. same as the elite fanboy BS that went on when the Gundam series went to toonami. there are some very good reasons that most naruto fans are called "Narutards" by the anime community.

quit complaining until you see it. and then, dont dare ***** about it unless it's raped as much as DBZ or CCS was.

They wont edit blood in naruto unless it's flowing. My friend saw the preview yesterday and said they changed Hokage to Head ninja.

And I like the first Naruto story arc (Haku and Zabuza), but once they got to the second part of the exams, the animation went to *****. Naruto vs Kiba was a good example of this.

The manga doesn't suffer from the same amount of filler time/re-cap time, so I still read it.

The animation quality goes back and forth. As I understand it, they have like a few animation studios working on the anime. I know one of them is really good and another just flat out sucks. I think the guys who did FLCL just did a few episodes. They did a couple with a style very similar to the one in FLCL and their name was in the credits. It was kind of weird 'cause it looked so different from the regular style.

As far as filler, the real filler episodes suck. Bad. The stuff they add to the regular episodes is pretty good IMO.

If its the same people that brought over Inuyasha then im guessing Ocean Group will be doing the voices (or whatever their name is).
They have decent voice actors, so it should be okay.
Of course, I already have the first 120 episodes, so there isnt much point in me watching it really.

(And yes, I like the Manga much better)

I can understand making Goku sound more manly (because he and the rest of the Son family males were voiced by the same woman), but did what's his face (Chris Sabat?) have to do the voice for every other character?

Not just ANY woman, a random librarian that Chris Sabat found and thought had the perfect voice for the character.

I still think the CCS dub was worse than DBZ. they turned Sakura into a valley girl.

I never watched CCS. But since they changed the name and focus of the show before they aired it here, I figured the US version wasn't worth my time.

And that librarian SUCKED! Freeza's JP voice actor was so much cooler and more intimidating. :(

CCS's dub changed Yuki to "Julian", and Tomoyo to "Madison" (as well as made her sakura's cousin). also removed all of Keroberos' cuteness (its not the same without "Kero-chan check!" at the end of each episode) and tried to make it him sould like a surfer or something. it was a train wreck. while DBZ was god-awful, they at least played the episodes in order, and didnt chop out any scenes/episodes that were too story driven. if you watch 3 episodes of the american "cardcaptors" in the order they aired here, you're likely to see a character featured prominantly in the first episode you watch introduced in the third episode you watch. Shaoran Li (or Lee, according to nelvana) was a main character in the show long before nelvana aired his introduction episode.

Yeah, I heard they changed the order of the episodes (and the title of the show) because they wanted the show to appeal to "boys" as well as girls. I think people that market things to children are more ignorant than the kids could ever be. They never give children enough credit, they always have to pander to them like they are little idiots.

Yup, that's the Funimation dub. The OG dub(covered the Saiyan and a little of the Namek sagas) was a lot better. That Funi VA who does Frieza sounds better as Genkai, who's an old hag.

CCS is completely fit for US TV without censoring. the only thing I can see requiring editing would be the single scene where sakura is taking a bath in episode 7 or 8. other than that, it is completely safe.

I know, I'll never understand why the US companies feel the need to trash these cartoons in such a manner. They would be more popular and have a wider audience if they left them alone/un-edited (for the most part). Wider fan base = more cash. It's not difficult to figure out.

4Kids had an interview recently that said they look mainly for anime they can package to kids and that they can merchandise. It seems they're most interested on making money off of merchandise, not the anime.

But if it was a series that older people might get into they could have all that money from parents plus all the disposable income from teenagers and college kids.

I hate 4kids edits. Ive seen before and after screen shots from One Peice, and the changes they made are friggin retarded.

Some guy was being held hostage, and had a gun pointed at him. So they changed it to some strange "thing" with light bulbs all over it.

But then again, people always say thet 4kids ruins any show they touch. But if you really look at it, they seem to only pick up crappy shows ayway. :p

One Piece is far from crappy. It's one of the best animes out there and it's even more popular than Naruto in Japan.

I actually like the One Piece anime. But it sucks that you can't watch it on tv without it being cut and edited, where abouts it almost becomes choppy.

Aside from casting the guy who does Brok's voice from Pokemon to do that narrator, I think they did a pretty good job with hiring good voice actors.
