Running around the guardians colony is completely menu based. Wanting to speak to characters involves a top down view of the map/area and highlighting who to speak to.
All dialog is just a background with the speaking character's portrait in the foreground. But it seems that everyone is voiced except for your character. So far the only dialog my guy has said was ".......", and "!!!!".
There was one part where another character was shown walking up to the camera to speak to me, but you can tell it was an FMV using in game graphics.
Character creation is exactly the same as PSU. But after creating a character, it gives an option of selection one of the PMs and naming her. I dunno how to use this character yet.
The d-pad when in a dungeon works just like monster hunter to use the camera, so that was easy to get used to. Analog moves the character around.
Holding L locks on, holding R will use a secondary weapon (the handgun).
Gameplay seems about the same. First tutorial dungeon is the same damn one in the guardians colony in PSU, im guessing everything else will be the exact same as well.
The graphics look pretty good, actually. Just like the PS2 version, but there hasnt been enough enemies on screen yet to know if there's any bad slowdown.
And if a party member happens to kill an enemy before you get a chance to hit it, you dont earn exp. Which is stupid, you should get a tiny bit at least.
Well, if you had played PSO on the Dreamcast, the Gamecube, or the Xbox, you would have already known that, and would not have been so disappointed.
Also it IS possible to just play the story mode, and unlock a single player (multi on same console?) version of the online. But then again, who in their right mind would want to play the actual story???
