Things In Life I'll Never Understand.

Some things in life just make no sense. Here are some of my examples that I either came up with myself or have heard, post yours.

1.) Why does Walmart refuse to sell CD's with explicit lyrics, yet one aisle over they sell R-rated DVD's and M-rated video games?

2.) Why is there braile on drive-up ATM's, should blind people really be allowed to drive?

3.) Why does everyone that works fast food drive-thru windows have short arms?

4.) How come 80% of americans favorite season is the season they were born in? (Go ahead, ask people).

5.) If all commercials claim that the "leading product" is so inferior, why is it the leading product?

6.) Just why does that guy in the Enzyte commercials have such a cheesy grin?

7.) Why aren't people afraid of the Snuggles bear? I am.

8.) If blind people wear sun glasses, why don't deaf people wear ear muffs?

9.) Why do psychic hotlines ask for your credit card number, shouldn't they already know it?

10.) Why do soft drinks taste better from a fountain than if you purchased it in a bottle?

1.) Why does Walmart refuse to sell CD's with explicit lyrics, yet one aisle over they sell R-rated DVD's and M-rated video games?
I don't know the answer to that question; I hypothesize that it is because the Waltons have religious views that do not tolerate certain themes or sexual overtones in music, yet don't want to cannibalize sales from their more profitable movie/games sectors.

2.) Why is there braile on drive-up ATM's, should blind people really be allowed to drive?
Not everyone who uses a drive up ATM does so in a car. I walk up to them all of the time because that may be the only ATM machine available. Someone who is blind will need to use braille to be able to operate it. HOWEVER, given that they cannot see the screen nor feel it, it leaves me questioning who they would use it, making the braille useless. My hypothesis is that perhaps some sort of government regulation requires it(this would not be surprising; dumber laws exist).

3.) Why does everyone that works fast food drive-thru windows have short arms?
This question cannot be answered because 'short' is a relative term and I can assure you that the arm length of those serving fast food will follow a standard normal distribution if you were to collect datas and create a graph of the number of people with different arm lengths; there will be people with arms 'short' and 'long'. As to how this would compare with a random sample of society, I cannot say. If there is a difference, it may be attributable to the age of the employees being on average lower than that found in society(although this may not be true).

4.) How come 80% of americans favorite season is the season they were born in? (Go ahead, ask people).
I don't know. I have never even heard this statistic. If the statistic is true, I will note that I am in the 20%.

5.) If all commercials claim that the "leading product" is so inferior, why is it the leading product?
The two definitions of leading product are different. Pay attention to the context.

6.) Just why does that guy in the Enzyte commercials have such a cheesy grin?
This is because his DNA has caued his body to develop a face conducive toward producing this facial gesture, and he was likely hired for the commercial and told to make such a facial gesture.

7.) Why aren't people afraid of the Snuggles bear? I am.
Because all people have their own unique fears, and given their life experiences, they may not be predisposed to fearing the same things as other people.

8.) If blind people wear sun glasses, why don't deaf people wear ear muffs?
Blind people wear sunglasses in effort to conceal their eyes since their eyes look abnormal compared to those of a person who can see. A person who is deaf, by contrast, does not have ears that appear abnormal and thus has no use for earmuffs since there is no need to maintain a 'normal' appearance.

9.) Why do psychic hotlines ask for your credit card number, shouldn't they already know it?
Psychic hotlines ask for your credit card number because they are not psychic, but are instead a classification of entertainers.

10.) Why do soft drinks taste better from a fountain than if you purchased it in a bottle?
Fountain soft drinks likely contain different levels of CO2 and different amounts of ingredients compared to bottled soda, altering their taste. However, whether that taste is more preferred or not is subjective.

I find they taste better out of cans and glass bottles, than out of plastic bottles, and fountains. Fountains are usually the worst since most cheapass places can tune them to water down drinks more than usual. :/

Because there is no rating system for CDs?

2.) Why is there braile on drive-up ATM's, should blind people really be allowed to drive?

Some people read braile better than they can see tiny numbers, even if they aren't legally blind

3.) Why does everyone that works fast food drive-thru windows have short arms?

Orangatains like to stay in the jungles and Zoos.

            Birthdays are awsome.

5.) If all commercials claim that the "leading product" is so inferior, why is it the leading product?

Because they have no idea what the leading product is.

6.) Just why does that guy in the Enzyte commercials have such a cheesy grin?

            Side-effects

7.) Why aren't people afraid of the Snuggles bear? I am.

8.) If blind people wear sun glasses, why don't deaf people wear ear muffs?

Because they still get hot like regular people.

9.) Why do psychic hotlines ask for your credit card number, shouldn't they already know it?

Yeah, but like vampires they need your permission

10.) Why do soft drinks taste better from a fountain than if you purchased it in a bottle?

Bottles are actually supposed to taste better...

            EDIT: Darn you Terr!

All of this was just for fun.

As far as the statistic regarding favorite seasons, I guestimated that, since almost everyone I ask tells me their favorite season is the one they were born in, unless there was a life changing event or otherwise important memorable thing that happened in a different season.

                1) Because its politics. They also sell Cosmo, which has articles claiming to tell you how to achieve the perfect ******, but won't sell Maxim magazine.

                4) I don't know. Like Terr I am not in that 80%. I was born in June but prefer Fall and Winter over Summer (in that order). I like Spring the least.

                  Music has a rating system.

EXPLICIT LYRICS constitutes the whole thing.

                    6. I hear the Enzyte dude's (Bob's) wiener is so big, he has to wrap it around his leg just to go out in public.

That and half the cup is usually ice.

                          Fountain soda is bull****.

I like fountain soda more than bottled or canned (actually, I don't like bottled or canned at all), but I usually prefer to get it myself, so that I don't put a dozen ice chunks in there and it starts tasting like carbonated water before I'm done with it.

Oddly enough, for me, canned/bottled grape soda is awesome. If I could find a fountain of it... pure ecstasy.

What if it is the blind passenger sitting behind the driver needs to use the machine? Also, there are earphone jacks for the hearing impaired. I've been tempted to plug my ear hpones in before but thought it would be really loud
