its a dirty business move, but id rather see konami with extra cash instead of harmonix. what has harmonix done for video games really. out of full transparency and disclosure, i will say i have no feelings for the rockband game or anything like it, so im not really basing this on fairness, but a bias.

How?Its a cheap and dirty way of making money...you come up with something that you know will be made one day, put a patent on it, not tell anyone, then play the waiting game.
Konami invented the genre. Konami created the instrument controller. They aren't suing Guitar Hero because they got permission and paid for a license. Rock Band didnt. thus, lawsuit.Last edited by Valkysas; 07-10-2008, 10:41 PM.

If they don't go after rock band, they have to give the license money back to guitar hero, and lose all rights to enforce the patent in the future. It's kind of a dickhead move, whatever way you wanna justify it.
You have to do these things to protect patents you own, whether you want to or not.
