Go to the Dungeon section of your 'The World' menu. Find your dungeon. Go into its properties. Find "Secret Door," or something like that. "Click" on it (press ). You will be able to place the overworld location of the secret door.

If you don't do the above, your door will have no destination, which is why it won't take you anywhere.

thanks... i finally figured it out. but i was a bit dissapointed as i thought secret doors were something entirely different. i thought they were just hidden doors in dungeons that you could use to hide secret rooms with loot until the play discovered it through an event or something, but alas... thanks for the help anyway.

A good way to make secret rooms is with crumbling walls. They aren't activated by events, but can be easily overlooked by less attentive players.

Also, be sure to check out the RM3 Tips amd Tricks Thread. I've got a trick in there that creates hiddden staircases that cover themselves up.

Thanks guys, i like the crumbling walls and hidden staircase but... i've got a few ideas on how to create some "secret" doors. i was thinking of making an old school D&D adventure and having a character (like a thief, or an elf) who can spot secret doors. i figured it would be simple enough to use an invisble touch event, next to a rock decoration that is blocking the passageway and if the character who could spot the doors was in the party then a message would display with something like "Jack found a hidden door!" then simply turn off the decorative display of the rock and viola! i was also thinking a button activated movement comand on either an invisible event, or a decorative event next to a standard wall, with the movement simply going to the room behind it. just got to remember to give them a way out of the room, lol. another option would simply be the rock trick but if you talk to a certain NPC who could tell you about the secret door(by a change of variable) this way if you left the thief at home you could still find the door... but thanks again for all the hints and tips, and the welcome
