I found this car through a guy at work, his uncle sold it to me for $200 and its in excellent mechanical condition with only 108,000 original miles on it.
Its a 1977 Ford Maverick with an inline six, and this will be my first attempt at a long-term all-OEM restoration of a car...I'll use this topic to update things as I go.
Its got a few dents and dings, and minimal all-through rust spots, shouldnt take a lot to fix them, however Im going to need new fenders/bumpers since they seem to have the most rust(alot of it was filled with bondo by the previous owner and I dont want the rust coming back through anytime after I paint it).
The car has been parked for 23 years out of its 31 year life, unfortunately it was left outside so the body and interior took the punishment of the weather.
So why a Maverick? Because its not a common car to see restored, whats the point of having a common car and sink all that money into if theres someone else around with one that looks just like it?
Wish me luck!

Those plates are off my wifes car(this car isnt legal yet, so I put her plates on just in case the county police drove by)
Also, Ive taken the grille out, thats why its not there.
Ive also worked on and primed the hood recently, which was in pretty bad condition when I first got it.
