I was reading a while back on Wikipedia about the PSP Slim. It said that the screen is much brighter than the older model's. How much brighter is it? Is the refreash rate any quicker?

Re: Info about the PSP Slim
Yeah, but the older model has the same thing too. In the older model when you use the AC adapter it allowed for a 4th brightness setting.
Anyway, I think it said something about the CPU being faster so it could load games quicker. Can you really tell a difference?Last edited by Zeroth; 07-05-2008, 02:28 AM.Twothorp was in immense pain. The blisters did not care.

Re: Info about the PSP Slim
I'm not sure about a faster CPU, but it does have 8 MB (I think that's the amount) of cache memory, so UMDs load more quickly.
You also have the ability to output to a TV through a special component or AV cable. However, I rcently discovered through a friend that if your TV cannot display a progressive image, you can output the XMB screen, but some (if not all) games on UMD will not be able to be output. My buddy has a SDTV, and when he tried to output Me and My Katamari in progressive, it obviously looked all screwed up, and when he switched to interlaced and tried to play Katamari, it gave him the message that it needs to be set at progressive in order to display the game. I played tech support for him over the phone for this whole process, and I'm not sure if it's only that particular game, or all PSP games.
It's a moot point for me, as I'm now looking at a 1080p 65" DLP (which I'm using to display what I'm typing right now
).
