That's... kinda what I figured...
I haven't been interested in a real Mario game since Super Mario World for SNES.

But why must they release only one game a year? :cry

I'm pretty sure other companies release Gamecube games sometimes.

Old news. They already said this at E3.
And Nintendo is releasing games other than Zelda on GameCube. Here's the list for the rest of the year.
Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance
Geist
Battalion Wars
Mario Baseball
Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darknes
Super Mario Strikers
Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix
Mario Party 7
Riotsword
05-31-2005, 10:20 AM
You forgot:
Super Mario Hockey
Mario Bowl XXXVI
Silent Mario 4:The (Mush)Room
Mario Trigger
Resident Mario: Luigi's Mansion 2
Super Mario Mario Mario: The Mario
But seriously, Nintendo, Mario's being overworked. Try making more than 5 games that don't have Mario in them. How about... *GASP* Creating a new concept!

Let's just conviniently ignore all their new IPs from this gen including the 2 on that list!

Right. Real games have a PlayStation logo on them.

Ohhhhh!
But, seriously. The majority of those games are STEAMING PILES that would be STEAMING PILES on any console.
It could be worse. It could be Xbox.
I've never played fire emblem or advance wars.
Aren't they like strategy Rpgs?
EDIT: Killer 7 might be really cool.
Fire Emblem is, for the most part. Advance Wars is straight strategy. They're pretty solid games.
I do admit there isn't much to look forward to besides the aformentioned and Zelda. That is, unless Geist turns out well.

Yo. Batallion Wars is NOT Advance Wars. It is it not being developed by Intelligent Systems, it plays completely different, the art is ugly as sin, and the story has nothing to do with AW COs or Omega Land. They changed the name because the creator of AW and tons of AW fans complained about it. Kuju even said it was never meant to be an AW game.
Yeah, I wasn't refering to the GC Battalion Wars game, rather the Advance Wars series.

I thought we were talking about GC games. :p
Which I didn't realize fully at the time.
Aaaaaaand back on topic, what do you think is so special about Mario 128? We do know Miyamoto-san is working on another fresh Mario platformer for the Rev besides Mario 128, so what do you think this dealie will be like?

He's working on another platformer? Are you sure it's a platformer?
I wouldn't mind if they brought back fludd and did some more things with it. I don't think it's potential was fully realized because of the limitations brought on by the tropical island setting. I remember talking to a friend of mine about the possibilities of what you could do with the waterpack and some of that stuff couldn't be done because you were always on Delphino Island. For example, Mario could have made stuff out of ice if there had been a snow level or something.
Anyway, I think we've already heard and seen hints as to what Mario 128 will be like. I remember an old Miyamoto interview where he said he had Mario and Luigi both running around in Mario 64 and another where he talked about the things that an internal clock would allow him to do. And then there was that time he said something aobut Mario 128 being both 3D and 2D. Then of course there was the Mario 128 demo. Some of this stuff has now been done with Pikmin, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 64 DS. Both Mario 64 DS and The New Super Mario Bros feature multiplayer modes and New Super Mario Bros is both 3D and 2D. Sunshine used the real time terrain stuff and Pikmin was like what Miyamoto described as Mario fried rice.
The way I imagine Mario 128 is like a mix between Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Mario Sunshine. I'm thinking like a game with an environment that changes and can be altered by the user. This would allow you to complete tasks in many different ways. I'm also thinking it will be online. Like maybe you could invite a friend to join you online and play as Luigi and help you on your quest.

I think it will be exactly the same as every other Mario game, and people will still buy it because it's freakin Mario, man. Honestly, the original ones were fun and then gradually became more and more boring. I'm writing a Sociology powerpoint and I'm having more fun than I did with all the recent Mario games.
