New footage!!! And I still see quite a few of my animations in there!!! w00t.

Anyway, now you'll understand why I was impressed by the scope and destructiveness of this game when I was working on it.

I played the single player demo, and I have to admit it's really freakin fun. What do you guys think?

                Re: Red Faction: Guerilla

Played the demo and was very impressed that everything was destructible. They tried to push this element in the first two games but it basically boiled down to "if you have a rocket or grenade which are both rare weapons, you can blow a smallish hole in the wall."

I fooled around several times in the demo and it is great fun. The enemy AI is pretty stupid but they move really quickly, seem to aim perfectly while in motion, and gang up on you quick so I found myself doing random things like knocking holes in the wall to create makeshift arrow slits and destroying bridges to cut off their path while I healed behind cover to pop out and shoot them.

Aside from the AI and rather plain "bald space man" art style, the demo left me with a good impression. Debris can actually pin and damage you so it's not like made out of paper like a lot of early havoc engine games. Literally driving through buildings and watching **** tumble down is amazing and the mechanics of being in an open world like Mercenaries is neat. If the mission structure manages to mix things up like inFamous does then this may be a contender for game of the year.

                  Re: Red Faction: Guerilla

We have the trailer playing at work on the current loop, and I found it amusing that there's some Master Chief-looking faceless space marine in a helmet that some regular Joe Schmoe is beating the crap out of with the butt of his gun or something.

First time I paid attention to it, I saw the Master Chief-looking guy, and thought it might be a trailer for that new Halo. Then I saw him getting pummelled, and knew it was something else entirely.

Everyone thought InFamous would be good, but RFG pretty much came out of nowhere with its reviews. Right now it's averaging 90%.
