    Guitar Hero DS

    I got it

    I played it

    It's alright

    25 tracks

Similiar to previous Guitar Hero games

Career is pretty much the same

No online play from what I can tell

    It's ok

    A little easier

    Much harder on Expert, obviously.

    Re: Guitar Hero DS

We got it in at my work, and I was semi-contemplating picking it up. Two things held me back, though. First, most of the songs that would be considered decent to good are already on GH or Rock Band (or, in the case of Breed, SHOULD be coming for Rock Band at some point). Second, how the "frets" are laid out confuses me. I play lefty, and the picture on the box indicates that the DS is held the same as Hotel Dusk, with the "frets" on the right side. Which is cool for me, as I use my right hand to press the fret buttons, and left to strum. But it seems as if all the buttons are backwards. Green is on top, which, holding it the way you are supposed to, would normally be the Blue for me (pinkie) and Blue is on bottom, which would normally be Green (index finger) for me. To add to that, the scrolling notes on the screen are also backwards.

So, even people who play the "real" games righty (using their left hand for the fret buttons, and right to strum) seem to now have to play backwards (using right hand for buttons and strumming with the left). So, please give me some info, as the entire thing looks backwards to me. Or, in short, is there a lefty flip, and if so, does it make you turn the DS upside-down (which is STILL backwards, as I'd STILL be playing with my left hand, not my right)? Before I drop $50, I need answers.

QFT. Guitar Hero's not good enough to warrant needing to play it on the bus or the can.

        ALSO SORRY DUEL

Studies show anyone who plays it is 10x more likely to develop carpal tunnel syndrome.

And a lack of brain cells.

          SORRY DUEL.
          ...and that's why.

Since you can't play with the guitar, I will definitely not be buying it.
Why would you play Guitar Hero without the guitar? That's like eating buttered toast without butter.

the game is standard guitar hero fun and plays surprisingly well, considering the transition from console to portable

I saw in and issue of WIRED that there'll be an attachment that has the fret buttons, so I may actually get this game.

I can tell you're uppercasing from the word WIRED. The name of the magazine has all uppercase letters, just so you know. But I did see on the page a screen from the game, and the touch screen has a guitar's neck on it that you use the pick stylus it comes with to strum. The wierd attachment also goes under where you put a GBA game in.
