    A Yoohoo Bottle

    Larger Version

Of course this isn't as good as Ivalice's atrium, but this is pretty much my first object. I still can't figure out why the shadows aren't being casted, and I can't get the glass to look right, but I figured I might as well show my progress.

Those Mac/Katamari backgrounds are just random, lazy texture picks.

    ...I love Yoohoo.

Yeah, that totally looks like it could be in Katamari and briskly swept up by a ball.

I sure hope that was a compliment.

Needs a higher spec level for sure, looks like plastic (unless it's supposed to be?). Also, tighten up the label on it, it looks like one of those foam rubber holder things as it is now. Good start though.

              he used blender

YAY, someone else is doing 3d work...makes me giddy.

this looks nice for one of your firsts. =)

Im not 100% sure about blender, but most 3d packages after you place a light into the scene, you have to go into its properties and tell it to cast shadows.

And for your glass, again I dunno if blender supports this, but a raytrace/refract material is what you want for your transparency/reflections.

Raytracing is fricken yummy if used correctly.

Please keep it up and post more

Last time I used a blender with my PC both broke.

Seriously, is Blender the only 3D app for Mac?

That one's much better. The first one kinda looked like it was made of plastic, but the new one's a definite improvement.
