    Discount Gamin's

    Around this time in the console's lifecycle, when the successors have been announced at E3 is when all the current gen games start to go for lower prices. I'm starting to see PS2 games that are pretty new for like 20 bucks at random stores, so I'm piling up a collection of games I wanted at the time, but didn't want to spend 60 bucks new on.

    So far I picked up GT4 (still a pretty new game) for $30, and Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 for $15 a piece. They're all pretty awesome games. Tomorrow I'm cashing in my change jar at the bank (I have like $200 in change) and buying some of the older Armored Core games I missed out on, and probably a couple other cheap ones as well.

    Anyone else doing the trend of late-cycle discount gaming?

    its the only way i can buy most games nowadays.

        I may get a Metroid Prime game during this period. I haven't played a single Metroid game.

          I got Burnout 3 for $20 the other day at Wal-Mart. Very sweet deal.

            This is how I usually buy games. I usually go through the pre-owned games first.

            Unless there is a game I really must have and can't find the determination to wait for it...or if it seems like it will be hard to find later.

              Yeah, I also don't have the free time to spend on a lot of games, so I just pick a few I'm really interested in.

                I'm awaiting for the chance to pick up GT4 and a few like Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I've missed out on every game for the past 2 years or so. Need money and a job. Discounts are the *only* way I'll be able to afford games, especially with a project of my own that will be sucking up my money once I make money again.

                  I recently made a deal with a girl I know to get Final Fantasy III and Chrono Trigger for SNES for $30.

                    I usually buy pre-owned games, so this will be nothing new for me. I actually have a discount card for buying pre-owned stuff at EB Games. It's probably saved me $15-20 so far. Sweet deal.

                    I think the last game I bought new was RPGM2.

                      Hey Terr, have you played the Shadow Hearts games? I cant remember?

                      They might kinda be to your liking. They are kinda present day, set in the WWI Era, and are suprisingly good, although it still involves demons and magic and stuff.

                          How much is it going for now? I scored the original Persona for the PSX for $15 back in early 2003...

                            Well, it hasn't shown up used anywhere around here. And only a few places have it new. The low supply of the initial shipment (I have no idea if Atlus plans to manufacture more) combined with word of mouth may make it difficult to pick up second-hand. Just a warning.
