    Carpet help...

Hey guys. Anyone know the best way to get bloodstains out of a carpet?
I'm pretty sure it's soaked into the padding underneath, and it's started to smell. I don't want my landlord to notice, so any help would be appreciated.

I figured I'd ask here first.

So if we help you are we assisting in covering up a murder?

    I am just curious.

the lighter stains came out okay with a little bit of scrubbing. the large pool isn't going anywhere. as a last resort we'll probably just remove the carpet.

Yeah, you could get one of these from the supermarket. I think its like 20+ bucks, though.

I also read a few that tells you to use hydrogen peroxide as well. Another person claimed that "Shout!" Laundry Detergent works very well. I have never had to use this, but I may be up for experimenting the next time the dog chews up one of my stuffed animals. :P

I think I used Grease Lighting on blood once. That stuff takes out all kinds of stains.

So, have you been sacificing chickens and goats again?

                          Thanks for all the suggestions.

                            HYDROGEN PEROXIDE FTW!!!

Pour it on.... it will bubble and a red/brown froth will appear.

Towel this up, and apply more peroxide. It will froth again.

Towel up, and then grab some dish soap and COLD water (NOT HOT, it will set the stain) and scrub the carpet into a bubble froth.

Towel once again, and add a final layer of peroxide. it will get the last residue of the blood out of the carpet fibre.

Side note- the carpet will get warm as the peroxide and blood cause a chemical reaction.

and no, I have not killed anyone before

Just going to add to this thread.

If you ever get blood on your clothes and dont want it to stain, mix a little laundry soap with COLD water, and let whatever the blood is on, soak in that cold soapy water for an entire day. Longer if needed. Make sure to wring it out, and swish it around in the water when you first put it in, and not just drop it into the water. By the next day when you go to get it out of the water you most likely wont even see the blood spot any more!

Then just wash it in with your regular laundry.
