    Godhand

Well, picked this game up a while ago.

So far it's awesome, but so damned frustrating at the same time.

It probably doesn't help that I play this every so often when I get
bored of the other games I play.

I do like the wackiness of the story and it's characters.
Gene is whiny, but totally awesome with his ever evolving moveset.

So far my favorite roulette move is Dragon Kick.

So, who else has played? Anyone ever finish this?

I don't know how many stages there are, but I'm still at stage 3...

I started on normal, then I went onward until I had to fight the three stooges again with already hurting health, I quit for a while.

Started again on Easy just to get through the game once, I got part-way through but for whatever reason quit.

I really need to play again.

I told you not to play it, Mora. }=3

I got stuck at the two gay dudes for a while, which is like the first boss fight. But I kept on playing and eventually got better at fighting them, dogdign their moves and won. I know, it sounds crazy. But that's how the game rolls, like an 8-bit classic. It helps to ration your special moves and your God Hand power. Also, upgrade your meters whenever possible.

I'm stuck at the ***** who turns you into a dog. I got up to that point, set it aside--and since I haven't played in a while it's really, really hard.

God Hand is awesome. As action games go, it's not a classic like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, but it is super fun and challening and it has the best sense of humor.

And despite it's brutal challenges, I think it is the only game in history where the power-ups don't disappear over the course of time.

yeah, this is the hardest game I've played in recent memory.

each time I got to a boss it took me about an hour to get the hang of it. the power ranger guys raped me though, so they took a bit longer.

here's how I beat most bosses:

start off with God Hand power. beat them up a ton, but hopefully your meter will run out when they get dazed. then, do a Yes Man Kablaam. This move is basically essential to playing the game. after you hit them with it, they'll stumble back; as soon as it connects, you slide left and do another one. repeat until they get undazed, and you'll hopefully have your God Hand meter already more than half back.

repeat this whenever enemies are dazed, etc.

I still havent beaten it. I got up to the fight with the second deil hand guy, and he KICKS MY ASS EVERY TIME. Even my strongest attacks just do little slivers off his life, and the most I ever got off him was about halfway.

I have beaten the game, and must say it is one of my favorite games. I really love the bathtub scene.

My biggest problem is that I have to learn when to use Guard breaker. I tend to just button mash big long combos even when they guard, when i could just tap my guard breaker, and kick their ass.

For me, using guard breaker comes with learning an enemy type's movements.

Sometimes I'll cancel my combo and finish with a Guard Breaker instead THEN
hit them with the combo which goes into the context attack.

Doing that, I've been able to defeat some Super Demons doing that.
Oh, and using the "Counter" context.

Also, I'm on the "Normal" difficulty.

                          Re: Godhand

Use a guard breaker move as your second or third attack in a combo as most enemies after the first chapter will guard really really early.

Other than that, the game becomes slightly easier (note how I say slightly) once you learn the basic move types of the enemies (weak fighter, fat fighter, buff fighter, etc). The only demons that ever gave me problems was the one that shoots spikes out of his body because it happens in an instant and there's no countering it so I usually saved a 1-hit kill for them.

My only complaint about the game was the lack of healing items which made it stupidly hard in some points. Enemies often had lighting fast attacks which were nearly impossible to see or counter when most fighting games atleast give you a context clue or something. Fighting the black dude near the end of the game or that samurai master was needlessly hard because they had unblockable moves that could be pulled off in an instant.

I also remember dying during the rock star battle because if you examine the dead bodies you get a message saying "Where's the encore?" and then another baddy pops up (who killed me with a sliver of health).

Oh yeah, the battle with the midgit super sentai (power rangers) was probably the greatest fight I've seen in a fighting game. Greater than the Handsome Men from Killer 7.
