    I would like headphone recommendations.

I'm thinking about buying new headphones but I'm not sure what headphones to buy. Before I got my MP3 player, I used a Sony Walkman CD player that has a really good bass and treble booster, so you could get away with a cheap pair of headphones. Not so much with my MP3 player, it has a bad bass and treble booster. I'm willing to spend up to $50 on a pair. I can't shop online, (no credit card) and I don't want hugh style headphones. Don't stop with just one recommendation, all will be considered. Thanks.

If by "huge," you mean "anything that's not earbuds or walkman-style headphones" then ignore my suggestions. I bought a nice pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones (not HUGE like studio headphones, but bigger than a standard walkman pair) for $50.

Also, I know Sennheiser makes good ones, and I know they make the earbud type. They'll be better than any POS headphones that would have come with your MP3 player.

Thoses headphones you have might actually be the same or simular to the last Sony ones I bought two years ago. They were noise-cancelling, needed a AAA battery that went in on the inside of the right-side of the of the headphones (just above the earpiece), the outside of the earpieces were silver, and the noise-cancelling switch was behind the right-side earpeice. Sound like yours, Perversion?

Although I've yet to remove them from the packaging, I believe those are indeed the same ones. So, what? They were not good? Or (more likely) the wire broke?

If I had a preference, I'd buy headphones that had a spiral cord, like a phone cord, which would be next to impossible to break the wire. However, most of those tend to be studio monitor headphones, which are huge. I had a pair of decent-sized ones with the spiral wire a long time ago, and they were wonderful. I have no idea whatever happened to them, however.

The wire didn't break, It's just that the padding the headphones use is very crappy and hurt your ear after an hour or so. Plus, you really can't bend your head down without them slipping off. Not only that, but they just weren't practical to walk around with, that is why I'd like something smaller.

Um, $50 is still cheap for headphones. But decent ones around that price range are the Phillips SHE9500 in-ear headphones. They're what I use. They don't hurt your ears and they stay snug in them, pretty much.

I personally feel really uncomfortable wearing any in-ear headphones. The only type I use is street style (behind the neck).
