    Portable Gaming MADNESS

I bought a ton of portable games earlier today. Seeming as I've had rotten luck selling my DS I might as well play games on it while I own it. And I have a PSP as well. I gave them all brief trial runs and these are my impressions thus far.

    PSP

    Metal Gear Ac!d
Yuck. I should've bought Portable Ops instead. Only 10 bucks though...
    Crush
I love puzzle games and the concept seems pretty cool so far.
    Disgaea
I spent 100+ hours on the PS2 version. I expect to do the same with this one as well.
    Jeanne d'Arc
My favorite one of them all, so far. Crazy storyline. Good production values, and from what I can tell it's a fun strategy game without a lot of crazy micromanagement. Reminds me of Shining Force.
    MegaMan Maverick Hunter X
I like Powered Up a little more for the Challanges. But the thing that really annoys me about these PSP MegaMan games is the slow down. WTF?

    DS

    The World Ends With You
EMO. Seems like it could be fun, I've heard good things. I need to sink more time into it though.
    Ninja Gaiden DS
This game is way too easy, and I don't really like it. I want another old-school 2D Ninja Gaiden game. Not Ninja Gaiden-lite. *scribble* *scribble*
    Phoenix Wright 2 & 3
I'm bound and determined to complete the original Phoenix Wright trilogy by the end of this month.
    Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
I need to sink more time into this one as well. I like the new look/tone of the series though.

I'm planning on buying Etrian Odyssey II and FFTA2 when they come out later this month.

I thought Ninja Gaiden was pretty great, considering it and Zelda are really the only DS games I've played that make good use of the hardware.
The majority of the game is too easy but it's really only because spamming Flying Swallow is now even easier than it was before.

And I kind of want to get Etrian Odyssey II as well. ...Even though I hate dialogueless first person dungeon crawlers with a passion; it just looks so pretty and polished.

Zelda could've been awesome if it were not for the horribly repetitive dungeons.

Right now I'm tackling Apollo Justice and after him I'll move onto Crisis Core.

The World Ends With You becomes infinitely better after Neku's chapter.

I seriously turned the game off after the terrible intro but a friend convinced me to play further and I warmed up to it. It's still a rather generic "lol we're hip" Japanese game.

If I were you, I would play some of the games you have before buying even more new ones...

Apparently, Ninja Gaiden DS has a much harder difficulty setting available when you beat it once. If you can be bothered, give that a try.

I want to get NG DS but I have to beat Sigma and 2 first.

I've been playing The World Ends With You non-stop for a while now. Just got to Day 4. The battle system is crazy fun but I'm still getting terrible rankings. I like the food idea and how when you turn off the game your Pins will level up. That's a really cool idea.

Jeanne d'Arc... I wouldn't say that it's like Shining Force, necessairly. It's just that the game isn't bogged down with spending hours in the Formation Menu learning/setting skills, changing equipment/jobs. "lol strategy".

                        Re: Portable Gaming MADNESS

I recently bought Monster Hunter Freedom 2 or whatever for PSP during Gamestop's half off sale, along with Dementium: The Ward for the DS. Plus the Cowboy Bebop movie on UMD brand new for $5.

For non-handhelds, I bought Odin Sphere, Soul Calibur III (for $10), Condemned 2 for PS3 for half price, and The Darkness for PS3 for $20, Arcana Heart for the PS2, and Stranglehold Limited Edition (used) and Mass Effect (used) for the 360. Oh...GTAIV too.

I think this might be all the games I've purchased in the past month and a half or so.

If I actually PLAYED/beat all my games before I bought new ones, I wouldn't be propping up the sales of my local Gamestop store. :3

I'm still contemplating buying Genji for PS3, just for the inherent humour value, because we have it at work for $5.

That being said, I need to actually PLAY these games.

EDIT: We have two copies of Jeanne d'Arc at my work that nobody's bought for the last 7-8 months, so I'm waiting for them to drop to clearance before purchasing the game. As soon as it came in, I knew we would be sitting on them until they dropped to closeout. Persona 3 FEP just came in today, and I have a feeling nobody's gonna buy that, either. I'm contemplating the R-TypeCommand game for the PSP, but I need to play the demo first to see if I like it.

And WTF?? We have TWO Atlus games at work. SEARS!!! Who goes to Sears looking for rare-ish games?

I didn't play all week, I turned it on to find I was wearing pins that were already at max. I gotta stop doing that...
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

Yeah, you recieve experience for every hour the game is turned off which is both ridiculous and cool.
