    Dungeons & Dunces

Anyone remember that horrible Dungeons & Dragons movie made way back when? You know... the one with Marlan Wayans? () Anywho, it was god awful. I remember someone (can't remember exactly who) once said that what was missing from that movie was several cut-backs to some geeks sitting around a table dress in ridiculous outfits playing out the movie... /me gets idea.

So me and a few friends, having played D&D before (call us geeks, whatever..) made this D&D parody movie. And there's going to be more...

This is the RPG Pavilion. I bet people here have played D&D as well.

    Except for me.

The opening song is great but superfluous. The dire weasels, Billy the Bard and spotting the treasure chest are my favorite parts.

I was kind of wishing for closer shots. "DORITOS!" is a great line that screams for a close or at least medium shot. I think it's unnecessary for so many shots to be so far away when the environments already been established.

Those are some nice woods, though. I've seen more expensive movies with uglier woods.

Beside the bad transitions and the bad lighting I liked it enough.

Well, it was the first time any of us recorded anything on this scale and the whole thing (editing and filming) was accomplished in less than a day, with no script prepared. There were a few inconsistencies, but we kinda shrugged them off, given we were running off an extremely low budget.

We kinda wanted it to be crappy, to be honest.

The flying weasel was funny, but I have to think it's kind of endangering the puppy you threw.

Yeah I was a bit worried about that, too, when they came up with the idea. They practiced a few times with a log to make sure Andy's reaction timing was good enough before they used the puppy. I'm just glad he caught it.

We don't plan on using any more animals as projectiles in future installments.

Check out the Scottish independent movie "gamerz". This is almost the same quality level. Heh.

EDIT: actually not sure it's a Scottish or independent film, now that I think about it. We picked it up because the DVD cover had that "so bad it has to be good" kind of look to it, and just assumed a couple of minutes in that it was a Scottish indie film.

The funniest part was the DM. Every. Single. Line (of his). Was hilarious.

The trap in the middle of the forest and making a check to search a disintegrated weasel were good, too.

However, certain parts of it were not funny. Sorry.

                        It was good overall, though.

I am in 100% agreement with the Scottish flick Gamerz. It's amazingly stupid but kinda good in its nerdy way.
