The best band nobody here has ever heard before

Okay. I'm gonna post the name of a band that I would venture to guess nobody here has ever heard before, in the hopes that someone might read this, hunt their music down, and discover their awesomeness. No links....sorry (PS3).

If you are at ALL into ambient, shoegazer, really pretty, sorta happy, sorta melancholy music made by a Japanese group (but sung in English by a female vocalist), you OWE it to yourself to check out Sugar Plant. Listening as I type this, and a few songs are getting me a bit teary and lilting, but bringing a smile to my face at the same time, due to just how pretty it sounds. I only know of two albums, After After Hours and Happy/Trance Mellow (well, that last is two albums, but was released as a double disc in America). They might have more in Japan that I'm not aware of.

    Now it's your turn.

Sorry, I only listen to Separate Ways by Journey.
"At first it just looked like a picture of a bunch of lily pads, but then I started scraping at it with my pocket knife and the whole painting just sort of spoke to me," Schmidt said. "For the first time, I finally understand what Monet was trying to get across in her work."

My little brother's current band - atmospheric instrumental stuff - Six Gallery.

Took me 15 minutes to remember how to change my signature, and this is all I came up with.

Ha, jokes on you, I have Sugar Plant's After After Hours album. I'm not sure if I'm proud of that or not. My suggestion for the topic?

By nobody, I mean a LOT of people. It wasn't completely sarcastic, but I wasn't not being sarcastic.

I may have mentioned this man in another music topic in the past, but he's relatively unknown stateside and I think a lot of you might like his music.

Shugo Tokumaru is a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist. His solo music draws from pop, folk, and electronic sounds, but the mood is often psychedelic or dreamy. My favorite songs are Karte, Buttons, and Light Chair.

Another artist that might be of interest (especially if you like Tokumaru) is Dan Deacon. I really like the songs The Crystal Cat, Pink Batman, and Snake Mistakes. People call the genre "future shock" I think, whatever that means.

I listened to This Kid's Not Supposed to Be in the Family Portrait. Kind of reminds me of Andrew Bird or Belle and Sebastian, though I guess I can hear the influence from Dan Johnston and Elf Power, too (according to their site). I like them though, so thanks, peachy.

Six Gallery sounds really good. It's not something I would listen to on a regular basis, but aesthetically I think it's good music. Actually, as I'm typing this it continues to grow on me more and more.

Everyone should grab a copy of Andy Palacio and the Garifuna Collective's "Watina" album.

                          It...is...imperative. >_<

                              Micheal Bublé.

                              Bam.

....but, yeah, Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, are badass, and relatively obscure...like, Psychedelic/Jazz/Sea shanties... hard to classify... CRAZY STUFF. I guess the album I have by them (Trout Mask Replica) was produced by Frank Zappa.
