Re: Beyond Good & Evil 2
Beyond Good and Evil was a pretty good game, but it had like zero replay value. Also...
*** SPOILERS ***
They were doing a pretty good job with the whole photographer taking it to the baddies. Then at the end they suddenly threw in the whole "JADE HAS SUPER POWERS!" thing which ****** me off. The game would have been much better without doing that.
*** END SPOILERS ***
Either way, I eagerly look forward to it. The first was a pretty smooth game.PSN: KingJamos
Add me... I'll wait.

Re: Beyond Good & Evil 2
Hope this one actually sells.
I liked the first when I was playing it but there was a point where I got stuck and saw no reason to try and figure out why I couldn't go on. That whole like, year when nothing but platformers came out is a blur to me (Ratchet and Clank, Prince of Persia, Dr. Muto, Alter Echo, Haven: Call of the King [which was ****ing awesome, may I add] and such).Last edited by DK; 05-28-2008, 06:40 PM.

Because it was a good game and developers should push these kind of games on players more.Originally posted by Karim View PostI don't really understand why they're making a sequel to a game that sold horribly, but hey I'm not complaining.
BGaE is one of the few games I've played with a truly likeable cast of characters and Jade is probably the only female protagonist that isn't a headstrong sassy demon hunter with short shorts and big boobs and fights demons and stuff without breaking a sweat. She was a pretty strong character (I didn't mind the turn at the ending) but she was never a "In your face, stronger than everyone else" type of reverse male hero. She ranks up with Jill Valentine, Alyx Vance, and that one knight from Suikoden 3 as believable female protagonists because most video game writers don't know how to write females for ****.
Also, the world was genuinely interesting. Even though the game was mostly linear, the architecture, design, and overall visual style was very unique and pleasing. Even though the story wasn't too indepth for being such a short game, you could tell a lot of thought was put into it kind of like Psychonauts. That's a big plus for me.
Finally, it was a fun game to play. The races were decent but not frustrating, I liked combat, I liked sneaking around, I liked the idea of being a reporter that gets the scoop up close and personal, and the final game sequences (last boss fight and stuff) were pretty spectacular for a mid gen ps2 game.
Underrated game of the decade? Most likely yeah.

Well, let's be fair with Alyx Vance, here... She WAS invincible, and had infinite ammo. So, I mean, come on.Originally posted by marcus View PostShe ranks up with Jill Valentine, Alyx Vance, and that one knight from Suikoden 3 as believable female protagonists.
