I'm definitely importing this. If you haven't heard about this game, it's a Super Smash Bros style fighting game featuring characters from a bunch of Shonen Jump manga. It's coming out in August in Japan on DS. I've heard rumors that HAL is co-developing the game with Bandai but, I've never read anything that confirms that. I know Nintendo is publishing the game though. They must have a reason I guess. Other than making tons of money I mean.

I don't feel ashamed to say that I don't recognise any of those characters. The game itself dosen't look like anything special, or even that great.

It's highly doubtful it'll ever be seen stateside.

Even still, it's neat to know that they make games like this.

Do anime companies just not usually give exclusive rights to one game company in Japan? I know Konami makes the Yu-Gi-Oh games yet, there he is. In a Bandai game.

bandai was konami's partner when the yu-gi-oh franchise started. they were the first to make the cards, and they still make the toys. they are an official partner and can do pretty much whatever they want with the property.

I haven't watched far enough to know for sure but, I've heard that Sai has a sword and he also has that fan.

Valk, is that the same case for Naruto? I know 8Ting made the Naruto GC games and Tomy published them. Or is Tomy part of Bandai?

I dont think tomy is connected to bandai in any way. in japan, banpresto is the branch that develops games based on bandai's properties (most of the time, anyways), but bandai is ALWAYS the publisher.
