Sadly, I think the addition of kanji-based creation makes it less likely to be brought over. I'm still holding out hope though. For either one of them.
The thing with the handheld MR games is that the first one lays the foundation, while the second one greatly expands upon them, increases the monster count, and adds story elements. This was the case with the MRA games. It's quite probable that they decided to opt out of selling the groundwork title stateside and may release this one as MRDS.
You can see that, in addition to Gali and Monol, Naga and Pancho are returning (they were absent from MFDS). But not only that, Centaur (the half horse, half green birdman) from MR2 is back. A very odd choice, but I'm definitely not complaining.
MFDS has 24 breeds. If we assume none of the breeds are removed, and at least one new breed is introduced, the grand total for MFDS should be no less than 30 breeds, equal to MR3 and MRA2.
I really hope they bring Monster Farmer (Rancher) 1 and/or 2 to the States. I loved MRA 1 and 2, and was disappointed when Tecmo didn't bring MRDS stateside.
Twothorp was in immense pain. The blisters did not care.
