    My cat

I always thought ny cat would be one of those you read about that lives to be 25-30, but she's not. She's about 20 now, but in the last few months her health has deteriorated drastically. The vets just say to put her to sleep, but I just can't. She's not in pain right now anyway, at least not as far as I can tell, but she's stopped eating, and cleaning herself.

They say that gay couples love their pets like children, and in my own case I can vouch for that. I've been crying ever since I woke up this morning, and I can't seem to stop. I've had this cat since the late 80's...she is my baby.

I'm not going to be on for a little while, and this is why.

Good luck man, pets are family, whether you wanna realize it or not. I lost both my 15 year old dog and my 14 year old cat last year, so I understand how hard it can be. Just try to make the time they have left be the best. When they start to feel real pain, it's time to help them move along.

She's a beautiful cat, Obright. It looks like you've taken fantastic care of her, and I bet she's very happy to have an owner like you.

It's never easy to lose a pet, but, when the time comes, you'll always have all of your happy memories with you. I miss my kitty very much, but I smile every time I think about how he used to flop over and ask me for belly rubs.

*big hugs* Libby's right, we're here for you.

My condolences for having to go through an emotional period like this, especially involving a pet. I remember our family dog when I was a kid began having seizures, and I remember having to take her outside and stay with her to comfort her while my dad called the vet to decide what we were gonna do. Unfortunately, that's one of the few memories I still have left of her. It sounds as if you've got a whole bank of memories to draw upon for your cat, so it hopefully will not be too hard to remember the good times once she is no longer here.

Sorry about how things are going.

All you can really do is try to make her as comfortable as possible for now, and make sure she's happy.

well, she'll have always known you as her caretaker and owner (as much as cats can be owned).

my condolences about your situation with her.

wow 20 years, i had no idea they lived so long.

spend lots of time with your cat in its final days, thats probaly the best way she would like to spend them.

Thank you Ωbright for the sig fix!

You're a kind person, and I can only imagine that you took really good care of her throughout her life. But you both cared for eachother, so it'll be painful for a while.

I'm so sorry, Obright. I know how hard it can be to lose a pet; I've lost three just in the past year and a half.

It's hard to say goodbye, especially with someone you've known so well for so long. But. . . you know the pain will go away eventually, and the hurt will be gone.

Just remember that she's in a better place now, and that she'll never truly be gone. Whenever you fell sad, just think about all the good times, and think about how your life has changed becasue of her and how thankful she must be to have such a great owner.

We're here for ya, man. It'll be okay.
