Anyone listen to hard-core music around here?

I've been listening to a lot of Still Remains. That's a very good hard-core band. The best hard-core band that I've heard has to be As I Lay Dying, hands down. Anyone listen to these bands? There has to be a few of you that listen to hard-core.

Belle and Sebastian is my favorite hardcore band next to Primus.

I have no idea if what I listen to is considered "hardcore." But I listen to everything from Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach to Metallica, Korn, and Trapt.

I've heard of Korn, they sound a little like Demon Hunter only with crapper vocals. Oh, and hard-core music is music that has lots of, well, screeming.

KoRn is not like Demon Hunter.

And no, that is not what hardcore is.

Okay then, if you can explain hard-core better than I, go for it.

Yeah, i'm not really into the screaming type music. My brother is though.

Well, it's more than screaming vocals, it's an off-shoot of punk, punk drums and breakdowns and whatnot. Death Metal also has screaming vocals but they're not to be confused. Unless you're an idiot.

as i lay dying has some good riffs but the singing vocals are awful.

Yeah, death-metal is a little too hard for me. For me, hard-core is just fine though.

Underoath is really good, in fact, they are recording a new CD.

Sludge and Drone are about as dark as I go, I'm not a big fan of bringing screaming into dark songs best to let the mood brood, not to ruin it with discordant anger.

The closest thing to hardcore I get is Hatebreed, but I very very rarely listen to them.

My next closest hardcore would be P.O.D., Ra, 3 Days Grace, Saliva, but even then those arent hardcore.

And I know, I have horrible tastes in music, no one has to remind me
